The one where Ted visits a preist and finds he is a Nazi sympathiser surrounded by a massive collection of Nazi memorabelia. He even harbours an ex SS officer 🙂 🙂 🙂

Or the one where Father Jack is afflicted by a desease which causes excesssive hairyness so has to go into a home until he’s cured. Jacks place is taken temorairily by father Finton Stack (great name) who makes Ted and Dougals lives hell. This episode includes the scene where two other visiting preists are watching some kids playing football

” What are we watching?” Priest buddy1: “were lookin at the sports day” Finton Stack: “lots of young fellas runnin around in shorts, thats kind of thing you like lookin at” Father Finton Stack with a sly twinkle in the eye turns to another priest “and Ill bet you like that to, only your probably imagining what they’ed look like without shorts. your sitting there imagining that with a big smile on your face, Ya Dirty Fecker”. The best.

Well I’m not totally conviced about the F-35 as an F-111 or even Tornado replacement. Sure it’ll be good. Even very good….as an F-16, F/A-18 and Mirage 2000 replacement.

However, the F-111 is almost a strategic class jet35. The F-35 is not, even though it will have greater range than an F-16 by all accounts.

I simply mentioned the Tornado as it may be availabe TODAY as is the F-15E/I/K/S etc. Remember, the F-35 is some years away. That said, how bad (or otherwise) a shape are the F-111’s in??? Can they not las another 10 years???

Leasing – or better still buying some F-15E’s would be a good move. Alternatively, how about leasing / buying surplus Tornados from British, German and Italian stocks?

25-30 A/C seems reasonable. Sure, it would not have the F-111’s range or weapon load. However, it (the Tornado) has more later generation avionics and very good low level characteristics.

Oh for god’s sake, no more F-16s! Stop selling them!

Hmmmm….a bit like saying Oh for god’s sake, no more Ford Mondeos! Or Oh for god’s sake, no more MS Windows! or Oh for god’s sake, no more Apple iPods.

When you have a successful product, can you simply just stop? Unless or until you have a superior successor lined up of course…

In WWII, the French Insurgency VS the occupying Germans – I’d go with the French Insurgency. In this situation, the insurgency had pretty much the total support of the people.

Hmmm…what about Nazi collaborators??? Many a Frenchman had sympathy and absolute support for Nazi policies.

A better example maybe the defence of Berlin. The remnants of the German army along with old men and young lads fought a desperate last stand against the Soviet Red Army. Although they could not and did not win, they did cause a lot of damage to advancing Soviet forces. The Soviets being the Soviets of course relied on huge numbers and total belief.

These German urban defenders had more support from the German peoples as the Soviets were depicted as barely human scum by Josef Geobels and the Nazi propoganda mahine. There was sheer fear at the thought of running into Red Army troops for this reason and also because of the attrocities commited by the Nazi’s in the Soviet Union. The Soviets would of course consider the taking of Berlin as “payback”. Sadly, part of this payback involved the raping of German women by Red Army soldiers (the Nazis did the same). This galvanised public attitude against the Soviet invasion.
