LM said most of it before (Paris air show) 😉
They are displaying routes and directions. This is valuable and a great effort at the attention of the public.
@PeeD: Regarding the engine model:
Don’t forget the starter generator where the air is sourced:
– lot of heat that is better routed away before the high pressure compressor (I see this as an innovation not seen before). The air is sucked by the pressure diff at the eng outlet (speed diff in fact).
– what is funny is that you could play with shock compression
– what is funny is that you could use this as a better way to get your stream neutral (if charged obviously).
The New Airbus Helicopters Industrial Model is Coming Together
With a 15mm reinforcing plate and undefined/unfinished bracings on the tail elevator of proto 3 (last one out)?!
Not sure that EASA will grant a certification for this.

sometime you can see this but most of the time safety regulations rule it out (for the good 😉 ). There is no saying that most that F-22 and 35s display at airshow can be matched by their Russian counterpart, if ever someone has to write it down…
Man, if you don’t have much alpha, that’s what you do (your saying).
It is out of Catia but not modeled under Catia (from sketches).
Notice that the lining suggests it was made out of 2d sketches. This was probably not designed in 3D under Catia as this images would like to infer.
Notice also how all the components were added to make it look more real (see again the lining that cut the conformal antennae disposed all around (the more the better?).
Notice also that the small beak nose could suggest as Hallow imply that no radar antenna is necessary (conformal antennae).
The most important is that it pulls the Brit industry (and their EU partner) out of the ever lasting marrasm of never doing something that has to be fielded. Systems need an airframe and a user to get funded.
It might not fly at Mach 3 but it very we’ll be at last airborne for real in 10 years
@Eagle1: Everyone but you seems to have in mind the trowel effect so characteristic of a delta wing. How funny.
Air Marshal Leo Davies [RAAF] is quoted as saying [F-35] will “replace nothing, because they change everything”.
This had to be emphasized. A transformational aircraft for the complex battle ground of modern war situations.
ATAC is the largest Dassault airframe buyer after the Fr gov shall we remind the reader. It is even the largest buyer outside of the Fr Adla since a very long time. The last time more than 50 Dassault aircraft were singly sold to a foreign buyer is getting many of us back to some youthful ages. 🙂
I am amazed that we haven’t heard much from Mr Trappier? But guys, what’s wrong in France for not celebrating any large order anymore*?
*one of the largest helo order raised by Airbus f (from Ukraine) did hardly met a single headline in the national press!
Corsair: it was specified in the RFP and underlined here that the concept of operation is compatible with the off-line optional mode of ALIS. One again, it his annoying that we have to re-write the same points when the old threa is not gone!
For the maintenance issue, please remind that this is a factor of cost ( low cost – how awkward?). If Swiss want to be fully autonomous… Yes they can!
And the “Alis” concerns, as we should put it for you, are already answered in the RFI (and in the old thread).
20 something Typhoon in the Falklands?! Isn’t that too much? Are the UK planning to annex Buenos Aires and Santiago to make for the Brexit? 😉
The RAF fields 51 Tranche 1, 67 Tranche 2 and about 10 of its planned 40 Tranche 3 Typhoons. The 24 Tranche 1 Typhoons that are to be retained will be used in an air defence role only and will not receive the Project Centurion upgrade.
Easier 😉
27 T1 will be discarded (or available for purchase?).
