slightly O/T but:
thanks VoyTech – I assume this was Piknik Lotniczy Gรณraszka 2005…. ?
So it’s the first appearance of SHF’s “Old Crow” at an airshow this year !
Dziekuje bardzo !

Film-set for “Jurassic Park IV”, a Velociraptor’s view shortly before attack ?

Chris – it’s easy to find – the memorial is directly on the road from Steeple Morden to Littlington (name of the road is Littlington Road) – klick on link to Multimap above (post #4).
My only problem during my visit there after Legends 2003 (before having dinner at “Chequers” in Fowlmere) was that in the evenings, the sun is directly behind the memorial, thus making it rather difficult to take decent photographs.

It must be a Republican aircraft……
source of the above photo is here:

another good source is here:
http://www.zi.ku.dk/personal/drnash/model/spain/codes.html
Both do not have any specific reference to the “EA-” codes, however……

I think it’s Spanish – here’s a sister ship: EA-EAE
note the same letter-style, the same fuselage band and the same position of registration on the fuselage.
so the one in the initial photo supposedly is EA-EAG ๐
Martin
checked the Spanish Civil Register; the only possibilities don’t match
M-AAAG was an Airco DeHavilland DH9-C
M-AGAG was an Airco DeHavilland DH9-B
M-CAAG was an Avro 594 Avian IV
M-CGAG was a DeHavilland DH60-G Gipsy Moth (became EC-GAG)

The early 50’s generally were years of high accident rates, also in other Air Forces. For example the Swiss AF lost many aircraft during 1950 – 1953 – and I can only second Melvyn’s statement – some aircraft were obsolete WW2 types with high time airframes and engines, and at the same new types with new propulsion systems were introduced (first generation jets…)- moreover, the Korean war and generally the fear of attacks from the East led to an increased flying activity and therefore also to more accidents.
This also is valid for the French, the Italian, the Swedish and similar Air Forces.

I didn’t know you were a ‘swinger’ Martin! ๐ฎ ๐ฎ ๐ฎ

I fully agree – I didn’t mean to put the blame on ebay itself for the development of prices – this clearly is caused by the insanity of some bidders with (obviously) more available funds than brains –
but I do regard a place like ebay as a construct that can produce evil behaviour in people while fighting over an item – it’s beyond rational boundaries – it sometimes even feels like war. At such price-levels as seen it the actual example, it can no longer be for collecting things only – it is to be better than everyone else, at no matter what price. That’s evil.
And it’s very tiresome for collectors and historians (like me) to see important items go beyoned any reasonable price-level, and by that also creating evil thoughts……
I hope my “Swinglish” (Swiss-English) makes any sense now.
Martin
Nope – it’s from the 1/2 scale test vehicle for the DeLorean used in “Back to the Future”
Martin
Holy smokes !
nice item, but again exorbitant prices on ebay.de…! Where is this leading when “sudek13” only makes 3rd place nowadays….?
this really is e(vil)bay
Martin
nope – “Thunderball” used the “Skyhook” system with a bracket on the B-17’s nose, and the cast was rescued from a dinghy.
Here we see a different installation, with a wire being dragged under the tail to snatch the other wire between the two vehicles.
