Hi
a good source of research always is e(vil)bay – here’s a current listing – it doesn’t include your painting, but gives you a feeling of Lockheed ads in general.

excellent ! thank you for shring !
It is good to see that the Turkish AF, who for a long time received ‘hand-me-down’ aircraft from other NATO Airforces and therefore operated ‘older’ types quite long, takes care of its history.

not the best quality, but anyway – some pics from the 80’s in Switzerland

On the topic of haning a/c (bad) this, and Le Bourget are the main exceptions to the rule. One walkway (RAFM Milestones, AirSpace to be) IMHO is simply not good enough.
ever been to Swiss AF Museum since its enlargement ?
BTW – will PM re. your request….

Does anyone know the current status of Anders Saether’s N167F?

Hi Vampire – congratulations to your purchase and welcome to the forum. I will go hunting for XH313 material.
Best regards from Switzerland

It’s still there, though the USAF helpfully bombed part of their storage area.
…and donated a F-16 tail and canopy from the 555th FS from Aviano….. :diablo: (see above link)
Hi
have you seen the remains of 44-13278; P-51D-5-NA; of 31st FG 308th FS “Weary Willie”; HL-L; crashlanded 02.02.1945- MIA (flak); a/c lost in strafing attack on Kurilovec airfield S of Zagreb; pilot Henry Carlton; plane landed in Partisan held territory near the Sisak; pilot evaded back to Italy; the aircraft is said to have been repaired and the US stars were overpainted with Yugoslav markings, but to my knowledge it never flew again. It should partially still be existing (tail unit) at the Aviation Museum Belgrade……
Thanks
Martin
Roger
“Lonsome Polecat” was a nickname applied in Switzerland – it is not an original one, i.e. the aircraft didn’t carry that one when it arrived.
