Thanks for posting, Mark. Fantastic stuff! 🙂
Any ID on the silver P-38?
Isn’t this what was to become Lefty Gardner’s “White Lightning” 44-53254 N25Y ?

Awesome !
1000 thanks for sharing these ! Some of these ships no longer grace the skies, and most of them have changed appearance since.
Very much appreciated !

Hi folks
that’s me on my 22nd birthday on 17th May 1987 at the Georgian Bay (ONT) airfield, trying to steal one of the 7 (seven !) PBY Catalinas of then defunct Avalon Aviation baking in the sun there. All but one of these beauties had the props removed but otherwise were in acceptable condition.
I had my camera with me, so there is quite a number of photographs & slides in my collection showing these birds (and a DHC Beaver floatplane) – if interest arouses, I might post a few here in a separate thread.
Cheers

This one’s in Venezuela in a Museum – they originally had en ex-FAB (Bolivian Air Force) airframe, but this was sold to the U.S. for restoration to flying status, and part of the payment consisted of this replica.

Hi
this is a photo (from somewhere on the WWW) of what is believed to be P7665 with No. 65 Sqdn.
As per my information, it is a IWM photo.
