cheers RM, list updated, wont there be a third buccaneer soon?
CAA, is the problem the difference between the US, South Africa and us, is that they have thousands of square miles of desert and brushland, we dont. and the aviation authorities in their countries are more leniant when it comes to flying. Mr Mchenry (WL790 shackleton) was allowed to fly when the CAA would not allow it here (obviously there are many other points to take into consideration here) has anyone put together a real attempt to get one in the air again here? with a massive spares backup etc?
or would it be possible to have one fly in this country when its registered to a different country?
Whilst I believe Lindy is in private ownership, they’re both on the same airfield.:diablo:
Only just woken up when i wrote that 😮 apologies
All the above may be true, but it doesn’t prevent Mike Beachy Head from operating four of them at Thunder City in South Africa. If he can do it then so can others. Perhaps South Africa doesn’t have a CAA organisation.
Geoff.
My understanding is that the one going to be flying in the US, T.5 XS422 is registered under the “Experimental” category :diablo:
Rolls Royce Avon 302
looks interesting 🙂

wait a sec, is this aircraft the last of its type to still survive???
Jumper – A really good film with some excellent ideas, though the paladins annoyed me somewhat, “only god should have the power” and “you are an abomination” didnt god create us? and if he did he gave them the gift to do what they do, major flaw lol

It looks increasingly likely that an Airlift is out of the question, unless someone can stump up the funds required for a Jolly Green or a Mil-26, as I don’t think the RAF would be happy with having to recover a wrecked Wokka, as has happened in the past.
As I said, lets wait and see what happens in the near future.
😉
its a real shame, i hate seeing aircraft die just a quick one though, why are they bothering running her up if she’s going to be dismantled???
