the whole thing is scrap lol, the cylinder head needs new valves and the valve seats regrinding. The whole thing needs a complete rebuild for it to run again

After a 230 mile round trip to pick the damned thing up, and renting an engine hoist, I got it home and started stripping it down to find that it has had standing water in the cyl head on the intake and exhaust side! of the 16 valves in the engine, 5 are so badly rusted they do not move.

It gets worse! Not really wanting to but knowing I had to, i removed the sump to find a thick oily sludge with bits of grit in it, this had clogged the oil pickup for the oilpump too. I darent think what condition the cylinders and bores are in 🙁

What was supposed to be a quick engine swap over the weekend has turned into having two broken engines in need of a rebuild 🙁

My parents divorced when i was 5, I dont really remember dad leaving or in fact any arguments prior to that.

Its never been something thats bothered me or my sister, I suppose when you’re young things like that dont really matter (more like you dont understand, dad was there one day and then he wasnt) I remember him wheeling things out of the garage, no one argued no one shouted no one cried.

I know that realistically my parents arent compatible, Which then leads me to the question that ive asked myself several million times “what if they stayed together”

I can honestly say with 100% conviction That I would not change anything, Im glad my parents separated when they did. Saved us from growing up where parents do nothing but argue and bitch. Im 100% sure that if they didnt separate when they did, it would have happened 6 months later, a year later, two years?

It may be ****ty mate, but there is a silver lining to every cloud, sometimes its impossible to see, but there is.

My dad is not only my dad but my best friend, I wouldnt have ever had that relationship with him if he had stayed with my mum
