Nice, but I thought VS were leasing from EI? What’s it doing in Singapore? Or did EI lease it to an airline in the region prior to VS’s acquisition?

years ago I bought some cheaper brand cheddar once from Iceland

You see, the problem there Tony isn’t the notion of own-branded product lines per se. But merely the fact it was Iceland! :p

I too am going to follow the general consensus and say I don’t think a tv commercial has ever affected a purchase of mine. But that doesn’t mean I don’t find some adverts great to watch, VW are usually very good 😀

That second design concept was ruled out by Airbus nearly 2 decades ago, there is no feasible way to evacuate it in under 90 seconds in an emergency.

Incredible, and to think at some point in their history around 10% have flown for Southwest!

Their greatest hope of raising the funds lie in outside investment; Russia, Turkey, Mars for all I care. But I can tell you now France and Germany won’t budge on the terms so we’ve got a stalemate, and the country’s 72 hours away from collapse.

Whilst I admire the aircraft and it’s achievements greatly, I just don’t feel it can compete with the others in the list and so unfortunately will not be getting my vote.

Yes it may have cut journey times, but so did the jet engine (another invention in the list) and the jet engine is still having huge impacts on the way we travel some 70 years on.

If it were a vote for the greatest passenger aircraft ever built, Concorde would have my full backing. But it’s up against heavyweights such as penicillin, the World Wide Web, CT and MRI scanners and the atomic clock to name a few. Without wanting to sound pessimistic, she doesn’t stand a chance 🙁

He should consider himself lucky he wasn’t given a prison sentence.
Had he remembered the gun as he put his bag on the conveyor belt, he may have been able to organise for it to be stored at the airport until his return. But by letting the bag go through the scanner, you are essentially trying to smuggle a prohibited item onto a passenger plane… which lands you in deep trouble.

Possibly, but then they’d be fighting with Pegasus. Ryanair’s business model requires competing with established flag carriers, not other LCCs.

The Russians and Chinese didn’t stand a chance, reports are saying Ryanair may be paying as little as 40-50% of the 737s list price. Discounts that high are on par with the list price of the Eastern new comers (who are unlikely to negotiate on price), so Boeing had this one in the bag.

It just goes to show that if Boeing are willing to sell them half price, just how large the mark-up is on the list prices.

It’s interesting Ryanair plan to grow capacity 30% over the next 5 years, where do they imagine this growth will come from? Most of us have come to the realisation Ryanair is often more expensive than the alternatives. I think Ryanair’s growth over the past couple of years has just been from the momentum built up over the last decade, once it subsides they’re screwed. The rate of growth now is nothing like what it was 5 years ago.
