Now that would be nice i am looking forward to seeing that Seafire,i wonder what else will be at Legends this year i would love to see one of those FW190s.
Well put Yak 11 perhaps this will lead to others exploring that part of the world for more treasures, because at the end of the day all warbirds are rare i can think of only 2 P38s that are regularly flown PORKY 2 and GLACIER GIRL now that is rare.
I think a few americans have found various warbirds up there nothing that is ultra rare Darryl Greenmeyer is or was interested in a A20 i believe, being en route to the UK during the war there must be quite a few a/c up there.
What planes have the brits lost up there other than a hastings?and you must be correct about german a/c as well, being so cold there must be some good airframes amongst them the ice is a big problem from what was gained from last nights documentary.
Moggy i think the ammount spent in total was nearer 10m and in my opinion it was a great example of the efforts some people will go to to reach their goal with warbirds, its a fantastic restoration giving the world another flying P38 of which so few fly now.
The chances are there are more than B17s and P38s in Greenland
its a huge country, perhaps one day there will be more americans willing to spend a lot of money to recover these rare birds, from a UK point of view the chances are we will never see another P38 fly over here again we will have to remember TFCs and ARNOLDS
examples (they were the days )but you never know.
TFCs Beaufighter needs finishing, now that should keep you busy and if you have time could you have a go at their yak 3 that needs
nailing together.
Glad to help chris (via a BWB PRODUCTION)

Thanks for that mark 12 it sounds rather sad from a brit point of view,i know you cannot save all a/c but to let such a rare seafire to firstly sit there rotting then to have no takers over here is very sad,as i said without an american buying her were would she be now?.
There is a lot of frustration when somebody makes all the effort to restore a plane but alters from the original, this FR47 being no different i saw this plane in 83 at san marcos i think it was then with john stokes mark 12 please advise, but if it was not for the americans were would this plane be now?.
I would love to see her in the uk but we lost her because we did not look after properly and has gone to a loving home we have only ourselves to blame.
Mark V/12 who is the lucky owner now please, its going to be a great addition to the spit/seafire flying population thats for sure.
Steady on there mike j bolt bits on the sea fury what ever next the centaurus will get finished.
A bit bitchy steve bond, sounds more like a cement mixer and a lawn mower combined, just to think that was the US front line naval fighter in the early stages of the pacific war.
Thats whats good about warbirds there all different in engine sounds, looks and performance.
Like the P38 i doubt it.
OFMCs LA-9 i was lucky enough to see one pass before legends on the thursday that was so fast and low,it takes a lot to impress me nowadays but that plane certainly did.
Loved the bit about a P38 being in the container must of shrunk
due to its journey across the pond, i looked in the container yesterday and yes its a yak3 on its way out,i bet the lads at TFC
are happy a bit more hanger space to work in.
I dont know were bentwingbomber is coming from there could he explain himself,i get the feeling he is being a little tongue in cheek
oh i do hate silly buggers.
