This seems to have dragged out for quite a while for various reasons, so with that in mind, I have set up a Yahoo Groups Trading site, now its up to you whether or not you use it.
You can find it here: http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/historicaero/
You will need to sign up for it but it only takes a couple of minutes.
Hi All
The Ulster Aviation Society are currently looking for the following item to overcome a hydralic leak in xv361, if anyone can help we would be most grateful.
Item Reqd: Bomb Bay Door Latch Jack part no 106057001 or EH6079.
Many Thanks
Eric, did Leonard not get my recent email with regards to this item? I did put him onto someone about it.
Now I am not sure if I got my facts right here, but I seem to remember ex-Buccaneer display pilot, Glenn Mason, mention a time when they tried to fire up XZ431 (I think) with a Hawk after all the ground equipment had gone back to base, I will try and firm this up with him.
I have a feeling it was at the end of Cranfield Dreamflight airshow in 1992.
I had not heard anything with regards to the Meteor, I even did a bit of my own investigation through various contacts within the area and they all confirmed that the Meteor is still on the pole and is likely to stay there for some time to come.
If I hear of any future private sales, I will let you all know.
apparently a hair-raising event when using AVPIN starters.:D
Especially if it were a Javelin!!! I have heard the word “Run” used by ex-Jav ground crews on many occassion.
Hijacked again from the W&GS.
Success for Kemble application
By Alex Love
FLYING at Kemble Airport has just been given permission to continue.
This morning, Cotswold District Council’s planning committee voted to permit the airport’s application for a certificate of lawful use.
The dispute with CDC had been rumbling on for the past three years, when council officials consulted a barrister after noise complaints began to increase.
Last November, CDC failed in its attempt to stop activities at the site after a technicality caused a public enquiry to be thrown out on the first day.
CDC gave operators three months to submit evidence for a certificate of lawful use.
But today’s decision means there will be no restrictions imposed on flying activities at the site.
David Young, airport manager, said: “We’re delighted, we’re still waiting to have North Wiltshire District Council to make a decision, we believe they’ll follow CDC, if that happens it’s fantastic.
“We can put the past behind us, it’s been a long wrangle. I think it’s the right decision, I believe the CDC barrister was clutching at straws. We’re very grateful to the planning committee for being brave enough to vote in favour.”

Question thou. is there any camping on the site for say from the saturday morning till after the show on sunday.
just thought a bit of camping for the night would be a good idea , beat the traffic etc.
Unfortunately Rich, we are unable to accomodate the general public this year, but we are looking at doing it in the future (no promises though), your best bet, indeed, anyone from this forum wishing to camp out near the airport, is best off contacting Dave at The Tavern Inn, Near Kemble Station, Kemble, Gloucestershire GL7 6AX 01285 770216.
As of Tuesday morning 06:00 hrs, I’ll be based at Kemble for a week to build the show, cannot wait 😀
Excellent news chaps, well done for never giving up and I look forwards to dropping in on you guys & seeing her pretty soon.
None of them have flown since arriving at Kemble.
XH131 – External storage – Looks a bit of a state due to paintwork deterioration.
XH134 – Internal Storage – Excellent condition, capable of ground running.
XH135 – External Storage – Good condition – capable of ground running.
All are reported to be still up for sale through one of the other well known magazines.
A couple that everyone seems to have missed.
Kemble – Canberra PR.9 – XH134 & XH135.
Sad indeed if the base goes but the Spirit of Binbrook will carry on in the form of XR724!
But no longer to spin her Avons in anger!!
One day late, but hey, borrowed this from Colin Lourie, just for you !!! Keith.
Lovely shot of 532 there Keith.
you know, i would have thought lift by a heli would be an almost perfect idea, but i remember, this was already discussed with respect to moving 724, and something about the vortices or something created by the wings damaged the engines in the chinook lifting it lol
It looks increasingly likely that an Airlift is out of the question, unless someone can stump up the funds required for a Jolly Green or a Mil-26, as I don’t think the RAF would be happy with having to recover a wrecked Wokka, as has happened in the past.
As I said, lets wait and see what happens in the near future.
