Lovely stuff…..I also loved seeing her at Tangmere. I too, would like to see the static parts used in a static…but it aint my decision!!

seen them fitted to some Mk4 seats like JP. It is a handle

Understood Andy. There were reasons for the event’s date, this year.
The museum was keen to have an AJ and I stepped in to help.

I hope it is a success for all and that it does not have a negative effect on Shoreham. I am surprised some people would not go to Shoreham because of it…..as said before, I only miss Shoreham on pain of death. I even managed to attend when my bro got married (drove 600+ miles that Saturday in round trips!!!).

The more the merrier on AJs in my view. We will deconflict better next time (if this one is a success!). Shoreham will always be a fav day of my year….I have only ever missed one. I hope I make this year as there seems to be stuff I really want!

They are great social events and fun to boot.

Send some flyers. Understood about the dates, I did not have much choice in the matter…there was a pressing need. I hope it will be a success and then a regular occurrence. We would then make a better de-conflict with Shoreham. I think that there should not be too much adverse effect. The good thing is that we are attracting many stall holders who are first timers which is good news bringing fresh ‘stock’ as it were!

Yes you can buy an early bird on the gate. £10 from 8 to before 10, £8.50 after. We will have parking helpers. Aerobilia will be at the BDAC Museum so you will get free access to the museum with a ticket. Cockpit access will be as usual (hands on museum)
Stalls are looking good with a lovely mix to please all.

that is a bucket seat. So would have taken a parachute (Ally seat). it would have had accurate flt test inst, such as a sensitive altimeter as well as an ASI (semi circular thing is am instrument). The highlighting on gauges may have been for a ground display. The other thing to remember is that this aircraft would have had some kind of auto observer (camera/wet film) for instruments they were particuarly interested in.

Must watch it on the Iplayer. The Sea King is cracking and given me some of my funnest times at work.
In 2001, we were doing a trial at a base full of the oldest SKs in service – Canada. They had a cracking zap – Operating yesterdays aircraft – tomorrow. So many stop drills holes, like collanders!

I would better believe a Master than a Magister. A Master would be better for the job and would be likely on the station for dual/hack at the time

Later Tempests use selectric. I have the remains of a stick from an aircraft that was brought down by the V1 it was attacking. The brass button is there.

The typhoon column and that of the tempest were almost identical. Though I have only seen green painted sticks on the latter.
Not seen the knurled part of the ring in black before

Bottom row L-R: U/C ind looks very tornado etc, no, no, Rad Alt for lightning, above it oxy gauge Gant/Lightning

as others have rightly said….a very nice Tempest column…..you can imagine him bouncing along in the wake of a V1 before popping a 2 sec burst of 20mm and bunting to avoid most of the debris
