One Grandad was is ARP in London (too old). Uncle was a young boy…bombed out twice from London. Dad born in 1941 and evacuated with rest of family to Morecambe.

Great Uncle in RN. Other Great Uncle ‘helped’ build the Burma Railway.

    Cousin, Major, killed by IRA.

Other Grandad flew Catalinas (as I have bored you with) – just finished the last bits of proof reading – in all good book shops and Amazon from 18th Jan 2012, Catalina over arctic oceans.

    Very proud….

That is a pure Harvard grip…without Bowden cable guide. AH2242. All spade grips have a reasonable value….this one is around £500-£800, depending on how MUCH someone (or a pair of ‘someones’) want it. Good honest grip IMHO. For those with a spit/hurri panel (or any UK WW2 single engine), it would fill a nice gap.

Received this from Andy (I have his permission to post) – most forum users would find the way he feels very understandable in the situation:

For myself, my feeling at present is that whilst I understand Key’s position the action was high-handed and insulting. Having just completed some commissioned work for various Key titles, and committed to an expensive series of adverts in the New Year, perhaps doubly so, for me. If invited back, my view at the moment is that whilst I might ‘lurk’ or remain a forum member I would not wish to post again – as things stand. I would at least expect some explanation as to what, exactly, I have been accused of. And by whom. Last time this happened nobody ever knew why, not even the Mods. Nobody would, or could, explain. I am not prepared to tolerate that again, really, and in the absence of any explanation then I would certainly reconsider my future relationship with Key publishing. I am, though, grateful for the support of all of the mods (publicly and privately) and feel they have been dealt a very poor hand to deal with over a period of 48 hours plus.

I dunno, I embark on a long drive, come back and find my fav forum has fallen apart.
    How very disappointing.
I did not see anything wrong in any of Peter, Andy’s or Charlie’s posts.
I have known Peter and Andy for decades and this action is incredibly depressing. I sympathise with the mods.

In a time when most organisations claim to use plain English (i.e. KISS), that screenshot is plain and clear….ban lifting? Never…..that is not ambiguous at all….despite hopes it will not be permanent.
My view is simple, if I was banned in similar circumstances, I would not return. If those three do not return this forum will be a poorer place.

I feel that if they do not return, neither will I.
