That is a real pity. Regarding the Tooms….they were MoD not QQ

I always find that the folder you need it 2 inch longer than the one you bought!

The museum has a good floor standing one. I use a 24 in machine mart one that I borrow from a friend. You will find that the fold on one end is not as ‘clean’ as the other end – that is, it is a wider radius of bend. The floor folder is perfect everytime.

I got there in the end! My original Mk1 column is 540 +/- 4mm (due to crash damage)

Grip £200 to £350 at the moment depending on condition and if B1 or B2 – latter more desirable.

The hub of the Dowty test fan is an amazing affair – we had one at the museum – took about 6 blades IIRC!

Peter as an aside, are you doing the Spit, Merlin and RR day at Dux on 6th Aug? I have emailed saying I could bring a Spitty cockpit – nothing heard back yet

look very similar to the blades fitted to the blower tunnel at work. Don’t think they are aircraft at all – wind tunnel see tips for against a circular wall

Awesome and awe inspiring. Lovely chaps…with some serious numbers of ops under their belts. Good programme.

It is kind of cool that one of the shot up undercarriage legs and wheel from PK519 (or her sister) that were used for RAF Old Sarum gunfiring trials on SPTA has now ended up in my display at the BDAC museum in Hangar 1 at Old Sarum!

It truly beggars belief. I would have headed up a rescue if Id known and would have chased a cockpit or lump of it. at the least….crazy and someone should be ashamed of themselves. Do i know the personalities involved? No. I just deal in facts….it is 2012 and a WW2 vintage aircraft of great significance to the Atlantic War has been scrapped. Beggars belief
