    Cheers Aeronut.

I will be there this weekend if anyone is interested.
Or, we are open everyday except Mondays.
Regarding the name, its actually not a problem as we have so much BD related stuff.

Dave, we are after anything to stock the shop. We have a very good book section with some crackers ‘in stock’. Looking for toys, kits anything aviation.

I understand that the Phantoms have already been disposed of/sold. I pray they will survive.

Very nice, but please clone out that runway marker !!

Does anyone know if the decision to reverse the normal parking of the flightline…ie tails towards the hangars, was to allow a different photographic angle for us after all these years….or a result of last years Triplane upset as a result of the Fury’s propwash…I suspect the latter.

I thought it was to keep the aircraft into wind….which is normal practice (particularly with Helicopters).

That said, I had not seen it done before!

Cheers Circus…..I must have had a brain abberration when I zoomed in on the lens.

I noticed the different policy adopted to spitfire elevator position. Like the Hurricane, the control locking gear is quite cumbersome and would be difficult to fit, unless you were leaving her outside in strong winds (not sure they ever do that nowadays!!).

Thanx for info on RR XIX and PL965. Good to know. I have a large lump of wing from LF363 too complete with roundels…..it will be going sadly as it no longer fits in the museum!

Not anymore. I have the skins off one of P7’s wingtips that were replaced in the 80s. They had been crunched and ‘filled’ and had original stamps.
These are replaceable items. I doubt any spits flying still have original skins now. Just like the Hurricanes have all had their woodwork replaced.

Luckily some of these original items have found their way onto statics. A win-win for both the ‘keep em flying’ and ‘have orignals in museums’ brigades!!
