    Warbird alley was a suggested layout idea….a bit like the NW mafia! It would be nice if the WW2 aircraft could be grouped together but that is as far as it goes, at the moment.

    CockpitFest is by its nature and intention an inclusive event which makes it the fun/family event it is!

    My favourite items were a pair of Hurri I tailwheels off JP’s stall. No I didn’t need them (I have approximately 6 already), but one, to my delight, has a HA stamp.

    Bought some stuff for the Mk1 Spit and a Hurri landing lamp control. Also succumbed to the usual boredom buys!!
    I though the van smelt nice but after my food episode the night before was glad I avoided it !!

    Some parts of the law deal with deactivated by condition and say in sea, bent etc…as others have said, there are diffs between police areas

    That quote is attributed to various aircraft and pilots over the years.

    At Boscombe Down, our museum archivist ( who was at VS at brooklands then High Post in the war) ended up at BD after the war. He may have details…..a look thru the Test Flying memorial book shows that not just test pilots made the supreme sacrifice on the road to safer civillian and military aircraft but also Flight Test Engineers, Observers and Photographers and flying ground crew.
    The youngest FTO had just turned 16 when he was killed in a test accident at Boscombe Down
