cheers Dave! Jet lagged so brain still AWOL!
Personally I’d love to do it in the smart civil racing livery it wore when flown by Peter Townsend, but I can confirm it will be in a SEAC scheme.;)
agree Roobarb old chap! Royal Blue would be lovely!
A fine chap! Salutes to you sir!
I remember an article like that Alan….it was for the powered turret. ISTR the He177 had something similar
I have one from a Ju188 works the turret
The ‘proper’ PR screen does take an external Mk1-5 armoured screen well, so can see why it would be on on ‘597. I remember PL983 having a screen made by some acquaintances near Bicester years back…it was cited that the distotion of the original screen was poor etc. I can fully understand that the perspex would not be that good at stopping a sizeable bird. Could always use thicker perspex/plexi!!!:)
I have pictures I took at the first resurgent Schneider race in the IOW with 983 and her Britannia sponsorship and race number.
Forgot to say that she is lovely in her scheme…well done!
Got a few hours in `290`,hurtling around E Anglia,when she was at Bedford in `72-3`…real `Boys Toy`..
fantastic! Now I find you lol!!!
She still has her Porton tanks switch!
cleared old chap! Lots of nice replies from nice people
Grandad took his Oxford and Anson under it too! Once found a mossie coming tuther way!
I have had stuff pulled and have had several annoying email chains whereby they finally agree I was right – no sorry or refund of listing fee!
Regarding that Harrier, looms are absent, when she was at the museum, I put various bits back on her (as did other volunteers), it was the detail bits we put on, small panels etc. Chris has done a good job adding more.
no box sadly Geoff….thanx for extra info:)
cheers guys! it just gets expensive!!
Did the weight of the ordanance carried very with the amount of fuel carried?
Was the amount of ordanance carried affected after the introduction of the 5-A version?Herman
yes, as stated in my post…
Great work Geoff! Well done
My grandads memoirs cover this and how they often could only carry 2 if they needed 15+ hours fuel…ISTR he sank his Uboat with only 2 on board
