bittery sad event…covered well in the superb Blitz Then & Now book….certainly stuck in my mind….used those steps when I was a Stude at QMC on Mile End Road….the other was the tragic Fw190 bombing of the school the now & then photos are moving

The Wolvercote memorials brought back happy Memories of crusing the boat from its mooring at Bossom’s Boatyard (off Port Meadow), mooring her carefully, having a drinky in the Trout (made famous by Morse amongst other things) and watching the holiday makers on ambitiously huge canal boats trying to negotiate (oft unsuccessfully!) the tight bridge. Remember the memorials well
No.2 is the Larkhill workshops and memorial to the old airfield, there is a pic taken from my Smart Car of the Solstice Park Gazelle sculpture, a couple in the Boscombe down museum, and the bizarre sight of a tank stopping for Pizza!!!
