    8 x chippies in loose formation over Salisbury Plain yesterday afternoon….I feel a certain sadly missing forumite would have smiled! He would have laughed at my pitiful photo!

    Upavon is pretty old too as is Boscombe Down and Stonehenge (yes airfield not stones!!!)

    P.S. “Rocketeer”…I’m still interested in your ball turret end bell assembly (shell component) that was pulled out of the sea. If you ever consider parting with it, I’m prepared to pay handsomely for it!

    When i served on the BAPC commitee there was a push to preserve civil and GA aircraft. This does not seem to have caught on. Lots to do with a lack of glamour factor and the fact that many puddle jumpers are readily available to see and look the same, to the layman aka joe public perchance?

    I particularly like the bit with the Canon pod, I remember when I watched the Phantom Phinale video and they showed some canon work on Gibralter.

    Cyprus APC I think youll find…great video still watch it!! Also some great Falklands footage

    I think a lot of the wartime standard paint colours were carried through into the new BS381c standards in the 1960s

    It might be worth seeing how BS381c/283 “Aircraft grey green” matches – any good car paint supplier should have swatches you can compare to

    Perhaps someone can confirm that

    I used 298 Olive Drab on the Jeep as apparently this was the post-war redesignation of SCC15

    Light Aero sell it in 5 litre cans – cellulose based, and suitably matt.

    Otherwise get your local paint stockist to mix it to match Humbrol 78.

    Remember Frames 5 and 6 are silver, as are 12 to 19.
