Geoff, I am working off a poor bearing – regarding first choice – should have been “we have choices; (1) find right bearings and make right posts or (2) get correct O/D and width and get bespoke posts made.“
For my canopy, I would opt for option (2) if (1) is no good. I will see how well this works and price it for all. ARCO had fun making posts etc apparently.
Ant, I could do with the drawing of the front adjustable units please….they had to be cut off my canopy this am.
Avro Canada CF100 Canuck, takes a B8
spent last 2 nights trying to find the sample…..nowhere to be seen!!
Also researching bearings; my bearings on the canopy are so corroded its not true. The I/D is 0.2inch, O/D is 0.803inch (Foray makes is 0.83), width is 0.460inch.
SKF13300 is not the same dimensions.
we have choices; find right bearings and may right posts or get correct O/D and width and get bespoke posts made.
BTW, if anyone bought the other Herc yoke wants decals let me know
Lovely AH64 grips set there Ian! Well done. I bought the ugliest Harvard grip ever at Shoreham and a manky Gazelle.
Swifter, your PTT looks like the smaller unit fitted to BAC1-11.
will get a price for all – might be able to be a bulk buy
All the best Moggy……
Graham Adlam was selling the sections – or at least telling me how much they were
Hi Ant
I will do some digging and get a price. if anyone wants a set let me know and will get a price. I will also get a quote for the posts
I do! it is English Electric Preston
The poker arrangement means it is NOT canberra. Companies frequently made sub assemblies for each other. Also, a particular plant often kept its ‘stamps’ after merging of companies. As it is poker, me thinx Vulcan. Varsity, Victor, Valiant are possibilities – dunno why, but I am drawn to Valaint/Vulcan or Victor
Really sad and tragic. My thoughts and prayers will all family and friends. DCK, you made me think and ponder, best wishes to you.
I can make static ones if I get a sample
Many thanx Andy et al – brilliant half day I had. Lots of stalls, sun and old friends (some much older than others!!). Wish I had been there earlier – wonder what I missed! Looking forward to the next one.
Beautiful!!! Well done!
Hawker Survivors would be nice. Chatted to Graham years ago when he was contemplating it. Scope would be important. It may sound great to cover the whole ‘family’ but that leads either to a huge book (which may be of little commercial success – sorry, but that is important) or one with little detail. Given lineage of Fury/Hart/Hind family thru to the Hurricane (Fury monoplane!) – maybe that would be a good volume? It could include the Henley etc.
I would contribute to it as I would also wish to buy it!
Other volumes could then cover Hawker jets etc
