Interesting idea! I think we should resurrect the cricket match of older days!

Is there any interest in doing a grip/yoke display?

Agree with comments. This is a family heirloom and should stay in the family (I have my Grandad’s stuff). If for any reason, that is not possible, an accredited museum would be best place. Many private individuals would like the items and they do have an intrinsic value. However, would be nice if they could be seen by all in a museum.

Sage advice Bruce. I usually use Royal Mail….they have changed compensation recently which sellers need to be aware of. Not being a ‘dealer’ I just use it to prune my stupid hoarding habit!! and am not aware as I should be of pitfalls. Thought I’d share with others in my position. As you say….it is only thing out there – other than AJs and I still do those and enjoy them!!

London has a bomb fall map – you might find similar for other cities

Understand what you mean FB old chap. Another gripe I have has just cost me the loss of a lovely aircraft part and over £100. PLEASE make sure you either get tracking or adequate insurance. Ebay love their small print. My small print said insured only if requested by buyer. This apparently counts for nothing in Ebay terms. Even though I have that in my item details and the proof of posting, I am apparently still liable for the lost item. Expensive lesson. I am now considering whether Ebay is where I want to be to sell my stuff. Ebay own Paypal and insist sellers take it. Therefore, they get fees on listing, selling and payment method. Ebay have now also added that they will also take 10% of postage fee (since September). Ebay buyer protection puts everything on the seller – Ebay/PP dont have any risk. I guess none of this really matters as long as sellers are fully aware of potential pitfalls.

just saw that ugly painted Lightning grip on the F16 mock up in Jewel of the Nile – wonder what happened to it. Also had a NAF Corsair type grip on it

Dont have my Hawker Hurricane part number book to hand at moment, but sad act I am, I can recognise a few:
So numbering them in rows from top left to right:

The piles at position 2 & 3 are Hurricane from tail.
4 is a pin probably for holding one of the cross braces between Jt A and C or B and D
5 is a cross tube holder as used on all joints from G aft to the tail
6 goes with 5 to take bracing wires
7 are fillers used in wing/tail
8 is from Joint A (and is a doubler plate to give added strength; the big hole is where the top engine mount bolts to)
10 – 16 are assorted end of brace wire (goes onto lug of 6), ferrules for the joints bolts, spacer and a tube C clamp.
17, at end of that row is from the rudder pedal bar
18 (the big rod) is typhoon/Tempest and goes on the rudder pedal bar
19 at the right end of 18 is the rudder bar stops for a Hurricane pedal
20 the big plate on right is from the wing centre section box
    Below it is a ferrule
Bottom is picture is from the seat and holds one of the Sutton Harness lap straps to the seat bucket.

Suffice to say, a few of the parts would be useful to my project!!! Pretty please. Given the range of these, I am 99% certain I know where they came from!! Please dont state on forum, but feel free to pm me!!

Any more info or a home for some parts, please give me a holler!

Happy New Year one and all. I hope we have a safe and healthy year and end the year with the same number of friends we started with.
