Tony?!
cheers Martin, forgotten Id tried and failed before! Maybe the phots might help….at least to ID an aircraft prop with a light grey covering?
I have a short video of the last flight of a UK Toom, XT597. It was its last trials flight and included some AAR. I had permission to take video from the top of our building. My video camera was pants and I thought I would use it as practice – we all thought it would do a delivery flight. Hey ho it never flew again. I am hoping to copy it onto DVD with some vid from Boscombe shows and sell with proceeds to the BDAC. Just need to find a place to copy it!!!!
always drawn to Hurricanes TA!! She looks very nice…..hope mine will look as good one day!
My original post/thread start was sparked by the Duxford Diary thread being removed. And it was still not there when I started this thread!
However, this was only a catalyst to start the thread. Some replies to threads and posts do make me wince. Trolls have been part of the internet from Day 1. Every now and then it is good to take stock and try and keep the forum as friendly, informative and fun as possible – live and let live.
I guess I am/was a high poster – although I do not consider my opinions to be any more worthy than anybody else’s. In some case less so!!
I do like the forum….and do enjoy trying to answer tech questions when I can. Though my family was so happy when I took a sabbatical!! Sometimes it gets on my nerves – I guess it is like a family of misfits!!!
Lovely scheme. They have just weighed her too!
Seeing any Spit, Hurri, Lanc, P51 etc airborne is a treat to me!
I can remember the weighing of the old QF Wessex at Boscombe
Pink Floyds the Wall uses sound bites too! The ‘Simon’ scene where he gets shot down – hun in the sun!! Used just before Comfortably Numb
No probs Baz…..so happy it has gone to someone who will care for her!!! You should be able to get new glasses cut for the instruments….let me know if not.
I have always loved the P2 since watching my own ‘private’ display by John Watts at Framlingham in the 80s!!
I should really finish the Mk5, Hurri and then have a Stang waiting ‘in the wings’!!!
So not really the end of the world. Would love to visit sometime old chap!!
We spent our limit. It would have been nice – hey ho!
Tried and failed – underbidder!
it is very sad indeed. Condolences to the families.
It is sad indeed. The museum is an awesome legacy and worthy tribute to the Few and indeed, now Mike too.

Well done! Cracking item, not sure how I missed it! Would be nice to photo it with my stick top!!
Dont suppose you want to swap it for something!??
I may have some – tho scratched….need to come and see you!
