    We are now 2 weeks from Aerobilia at Old Sarum. Reasons to go:-

    There will be lovely stuff to buy, sell, barter, old and new friends to chat to.
    There are several stall holders who have not stalled out before.
    You can take stuff there to get identified/valued
    The museum will have some rare items on sale too all at knock down prices
    Our shop is well stocked with collectable books
    The museum is brilliant, hands on and great fun!
    The BDAC museum is 4th on the Tripadvisor list of things to do in and around Salisbury!
    The weather should be nice

    Space is still available

    Only 2 weeks to Aerobilia on 14th September at Old Sarum!!! We will have lots of collectors there!!!

    Was she not once painted in Princess Margaret’s racing colours for the King’s Cup Air Race and flown by a rather dashing friend of hers?

    Yep, she was flown by Peter Townsend (BoB ace), but was in Hawker ‘house’ colours. I have her original woodwork and there are still traces of that beautiful blue (woodwork replaced in the 80s rebuild by Cranfield). I put a photo in my piece written for Fluffy’s excellent Haynes Manual on the Hurricane

    This item was offered to BAPC groups several years ago (when they moved from Cardington). Wacky looking thing made to look correct allowing for the camera ‘distortion’ – great results. I believe it was used to ‘fly out’ the Museum director when he retired. I may have a wet film pic somewhere.

    used on lots of Luftwaffe WW2 aircraft. In addition to what was stated above; later 109s had them, 190s, 410, 234 etc etc. O think thy may even have found their way onto He111 and other bombers.
