Try Brewster Buffalo and P-39 Airacobra.
Supermarine Spiteful
How is that relevent to the RAF Museum – the type never entered service with the RAF! I would still love to see one though 🙂
No idea what Tamiya call them but the correct names are: Middle Stone & Dark Earth (upper surfaces), Azure Blue (lower surfaces). The P40 in the RAF Museum has this scheme so there may be the place to go to check out details etc.
PM sent.
Pete Kynsey flew lead in the Tigercat on Saturday as usual so I assume it was him on Sunday.
Yes it was.
why cant planes, such as “Black 6” be put back in the skies?
I seem to recall that it was
Duxford, only a few miles away must be my least favorite museum because it appears that everything must be under cover and hanging from a ceiling. Is this the way of the future?
Perhaps ‘under cover OR hanging from the ceiling’ would be a better description. For the time being the answer is probably ‘yes’.
No stripes – but maybe two seats.
Sam, it looks great. Looks like the Chipmunk job has spawned a big brother! 😀
Thanks Mr Spitfire Plac… Michael! That’s exactly what I was after!
I don’t know how you might replicate these. CNC milled paxolin or something?
Stuff is called ‘Trafolyte’ (not sure about spelling) – its a laminated board with various layers of colours. For aircraft we use the black stuff with an inner white layer so that when the (trophy shop) engraver cuts the letters in they show up as white on a black background.
Time to get the old team back together! Come on Pelican!
If only MH434 had permission to fire those guns
What guns?
I suppose the obligatory question W.I.B.A.L.? is probably out of place here?
😀 😀 😀
Read post 5
I punted a bid just to see if my theory was correct and it is. Even if I wanted it and bid more than the reserve there is no way I can win it without another bidder joining in.
Have look at http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/buy/buyer-reserve.html
the main problem with vinyl is the wastage & time taken ‘weeding’ out the letters
You are not kidding – two of us just spent an entire afternoon ‘weeding’ a set for a Spitfire, not to mention all the time creating the original artwork in the first place.
