That of course being the only red Spitfire I can remember. Not sure about the date or place though.

over a big (usually wet) airfield.

Now come on James, the Legends show has had one or two run-ins with weather but its usually blazing sunshine that weekend 😎

It was really lovely. I must have seen hundreds of Spitfire displays over the years but this was completely different being non airshow, non airfield, a perfect summers evening, semi rural location and only myself, one other person and a dog watching it from the location I chose. Just wonderful.

Although the 485 Sqn markings are incorrect.
Part of the serial should be visible ob the day-fighter band
The codes are incorrect, OU was ahead of the roundel and a small Z wwas under the cockpit

Nice though, I would not say no to one!

You mean ‘over’ the tail band? True – but as this is a replica, I guess it does not have a serial number!
