Thank you all for the nice comments. All being well I will be back there this year and will take the camera and get some more shots to post here. The photography plays second fiddle to the ‘day job’ which is working in the Mustang area with the warbird line crew so all the shots are taken towards the end of the day or in poor weather!

Y11F – I was playing with the photo framing toy in one of the manipulation programmes to get the ‘feathered edge’ look.

DB – not sure the world is ready for the Mustang polishing shot yet.

    This Is Not Mark V

    Hi – I’m not Mark V. I’m MRS Mark V.

He’s gone away and left me alone. ๐Ÿ˜€
He’ll be back tomorrow, so do carry on without him. Damien: You might want to check with him upon his return before posting any pictures of him passionately polishing a Mustang with his posterior!

Now, what shall I do next? Hmm … ๐Ÿ™‚

People keep asking me what ‘aromatic fuel’ actually is. Any ideas anyone?

Thats very nice of you to say that MOTF but they are really just quick snaps with a little Sony digi cam. There are a few more I think, hold on.

Daz, all the usual books are full of images of K serial series 19 Squadron Spitfires with two blade props etc.

Believe that if you will. It’ll be like the government policy on gradeI listed buildings- you are not allowed to change anything about it let alone demolish it, the government needs the space for new (unnecessary) offices down it comes

Which building were you thinking of Mike? The Baltic Exchange perhaps?

Strictly speaking the rules are that you are not allowed to demolish or alter/extend a listed building without Listed Building Consent!

I and my lovely daughters will be there Saturday…may I be so bold as to suggest a rendezvous at the Flypast Tent/Enclosure?! ๐Ÿ™‚

With you or your lovely daughters? ๐Ÿ™‚

You come across as trying really hard to sound like someone who is “in the know” and you want to make sure that we all know it. For all I know you are – but trying to flaunt it on here wonยดt gain you any brownie points.

if that’s the case he is not doing very well as in the same breath admits the appearance of the Hurricane IV last year was a complete surprise to him ๐Ÿ˜€

I am sure I saw one at Duxford the other day and at Hendon not so long ago. Hmmm

Can anyone confirm if Sally B will perform a full display at Old Buckenham on Sunday? The Sally B website says “flypast” but Old Buck are plugging her as their headline act.

What else would you expect her to do, aeros? ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

    Thats what it says.

    http://www.ofmc.co.uk/operations/airshowcalendar.htm

It’s not unheard of for the Duxford operators to lend each other aircraft. Not sure why they would want to take someone elses Hurricane rather than their own Spitfire though.

Duxfordhawk – take note. DaveB – probably because the Spitfire has another commitment or the customer wants a Hurricane.

Is this small Merlin (nearly called it a model) liquid cooled, does it also use scale oil?
