forgotten EP120?!
😮 😮 😮
Whilst it seems ok for Duxford to accept 2 seaters for large Spit formations (publicity?) it seems not ok to have them as a 3 or 4 aircraft display item. I was told (at the time) that they were not viewed by the organisers of Legends as “proper” Spitfires.
I think you have to understand the difference between ‘Duxford’ shows and Flying Legends. The trainer Spitfires are ‘proper’ Spitfires but they are trainers and as such are passed over in favour of combat configuration machines. The Connie is just plainly hugely impressive and was the star of the show for many people I spoke to over the weekend.
Not very likely I suspect.
And not just any Spitfire IX: Jerry Yagen’s MJ730 still airworthy in Virginia, USA.
sadly all the 1:32 Corgi Spifires have this very unfortunate ‘flat’ wing problem. They are aware of it and say they will correct it when the dies are upgraded for Mk V production. Until then…..
Maybe there should be one for Airshows so that there would not be complaints (wasn’t me) about modern combat aircraft photos on the historic forum.
It’s just an idea. What does everyone else think?

See my earlier thread!!
I feel I am already in a specialist enclave.
Come on chaps, Monday is much too early to have an anywhere near accurate whether forecast for the following weekend in the UK. Give it until mid week and look again 🙂
It is very sad to see they are not having the best of years, particularly after 2003. Good luck RNHF.
J M W Turner – eat your heart out. Superb pictures!
Saw Charlie Brown pursuing the HAC Hurricane back into the hangar, but I don’t know if it had been flying.
Yes it had 🙂
Hi, yes it is RW386, I understand that the story is true and its still in a box at Greenham Common
The aircraft is a 90% (perhaps a little more) complete project requiring final assembley. It was under contract with HFL before Mr Arnolds death but was containerised and storered prior to final completion.
Daz, are you talking about the spinner or the nose (ie the entire front bit with the engine in it) of the Buchon?
Daz, the Kindsvater nose in your photo is the standard Buchon nose with a Merlin 500. The Breighton Buchon in the first pic only has the side cowlings attached – she will look the same as the Kindsvater machine when finished!
Very well written Hairyplane, 100% agreement from me too.
