    Fair enough, I can’t argue with any of that really!

    I’m sure you see my point though :p

    I shouldn’t moan…I don’t even pay for it! But after being to Amsterdam so many times, another weekend there just doesn’t really spark much interest any more!

    lets hope theres no severe turbulence on my NWA A330 to Boston this weekend 🙁

    would the injuries likely be people caught off guard without seatbelts?

    Well, i’ve only needed to do it twice in the past, both without problems. Perhaps if they want people to avoid this, they should change their daft pricing policies.

    I don’t see how they benefit from a customer taking a 2 night stay somewhere? Or is it done purely so that they can charge extra for the luxury of coming home sooner? It’s a bit of a joke really.

    Baggage always comes with me :p

    What time did you Land?

    4.30am! To make matters worse I had to be back at the airport for around 9 to go to MSP via AMS!

    Like mentioned above, the airport was also dead. The two female staff on the desk in the baggage hall were just sat giggling and couldnt work the tannoy. People were going mad quite quickly! Apparently “the lorry broke down”, which, for an international airport at 4.30 in the morning seemed a rather tall story

    I noticed Gate the other day. I always see the same dispatchers on easyJet flights, and ones that previously worked for Servisair are now at Gate (at least some, anyway). So will they have changed employer, or do they work for easyJet?

    Swissport still doing alot at Newcastle?

    They were a total joke when I came back from Punta Cana. Took over an HOUR to get the bags onto the belt :/

    well, by nice I mean sunny and clear

    still windy and cold though!

    Wasn’t a great deal going on this afternoon, but I did see the (is there more than one?) retro KLM 737.

    Got a few pics, but it’s ddfinitely no good being on the observation deck without a zoom lens!

    So much for the crappy weather! It’s very nice today and was nice yesterday too

    My hotel room is right next to one of the runways, and it’s busy! Can see loads…saves being in the cold 😉

    Shame I didn’t bring my 70-300mm lens mind

    The thing is, the exit rows always seem to be taken right away! I suppose as soon as I get that “check in now…” email I will have to get on the case.

    I think I can get access to better seating online now since my skyteam level went up to Silver…we shall see I suppose.

    Nice tip there, thanks!

    In the past I have booked two return fares which has been cheaper than a single…but that was only really suitable when I knew where I was going.

    A while ago I got a price for a day return of £420. As a matter of interest I thought I’d see how much it was to New York…it was £440! Madness.

    Only a week to go til i’m off to Boston though 😀

    Where is the best place to sit on the A330?

    Unfortunatley the reason I am going is work, and that’s on Monday!

    No arguments about spending the afternoon in town but when it gets into double figures of times visiting Amsterdam you start to run out of things to do on your own :p

    Yeah I’ve seen the weather forecast is not too good. I had planned to go to Rotterdam on Sunday but don’t think i’ll bother 🙁

    Well aren’t I unlucky that it’s my only real option to get to Amsterdam!

    I’d rather fly out monday morning, return monday night but no…a day return is about £450

    outrageous to be fair

    Where is the logic in a 2 night stay? how does it affect them in any way? Is it more about the liklihood of a short trip being business so they just cash in?

    will that radio be any good a few miles away form an airport? It’s really cheap!
