PM received okay, email on its way Adrian.
That’s a bit of a blast from the past!
I used to have this album long ago, also on cassette. IIRC the cover shot was of a Jet Provost. If it is out on CD I too would be very interested.
For more RAF etc. related CDs check this out http://commerce.uk.sage.com/RAFMUSEUM/
Geoff.
And on the 15th May 2005 there’s another signing event at the museum in aid of the BoB London Monument, with hopefully ten BoB pilots/aircrew in attendance.

The head of the museum is Mike Llewellyn
If you let me have your email address, I’ll send you his phone number, best keep it private.

Moggy,
There are a few DVDs & videos about with the title ‘Battle of Britain’ or variants thereof, mostly documentaries, which might confuse a non-aviation minded buyer.
Best to make it clear you’re after the 2-disk DVD of the 1969 feature film, you should be okay then. You could always download & print off the cover of the film DVD & give that to the person who’s buying it to take with them to the shop.

For me, a very early Fighter Meet at North Weald. A dummy U-boat had been contructed which the Catalina proceded to attack, cue a lot of explosions being set off around the ‘U-boat’ which caught fire sending a thick black cloud of smoke towards the crowd-line. Seeing it coming, my brother & I ducked into one of the merchandise stalls untill it had blown over. We emerged to find everyone walking around looking like something off ‘The Black & white minstrels’.
Also at an early Fighter Meet, there was the Ford Escort Mark 1 painted in the same camouflage & markings as the sole Yak-11 that was around at the time.

A hammer is also known as a ‘Birmingham screwdriver’ in some places.
Ted,
I believe it was the menu card that Gerald had with him, can’t remember the date of it though.
Geoff.
Gerald ‘Stapme’ Stapleton had a copy with him when he visited the museum for the Battle of Britain London Monument, which he seemed quite taken with.
Geoff.
On the subject of the ‘White Hart’ at Brasted, may I suggest a read of ‘Inn of The few’ by Kath Preston. It covers Kath and her husband Teddy’s tenure at the pub from 1932 to 1971. A lovely read if you can get hold of a copy. Val Preston, Kath & Teddy’s daughter is a good friend of the museum, and pops in from time to time.
I can confirm that I am NOT Geoff Nutkins evil twin.

Maybe a project for the BoBHS after the monument?
Geoff
I hope so Ian. Of course next year there will be the monument too.
Perhaps there ought to be a staue of Sir Keith Park next to Dowding, or somewhere in London. Without him…
Geoff.
Perhaps someone can get a close-up of the panel when they next visit.
Unless they’ve had the foresight to get one already 🙂
Cheers Veltro

This is a photo I took last weekend. I believe the display panel circled shows what is original & what isn’t.
Perhaps someone can get a close-up of the panel when they next visit.
Geoff.
I alternate between Pepsi (normal or diet) or Coke (Can’t stand diet Coke).
At the moment it’s Coke.
