The Meteor T.7 WL345 was in 2000 at St Leonard’s Motors (NOT to be confused with St Leonard’s Garage elsewhere in the town), Churchward Road, Hollington, E.Sussex, having moved there from Hastings.

I’m torn between pre-ordering & buying a copy in the shops. Don’t want to order it & then find it on sale in a shop before my copy arrives.
If I do order it, any reccomendations as to where to order it from?
Geoff.
Indeed Ian, AD554/BEXLEY is also missing.
Mind you trying to work out what Spitfire on No 131 Sqn. carried what name is a nightmare.
Geoff.
I did do some of the research at the PRO for Henry’s book, plus I helped with info on No 131 (County of Kent) Sqn. (Note full stop!), whose MKVbs were all presented either by the Kent county Spitfire fund, or various local Kentish funds.
The borough of Woolwich presented both a Hurricane & a Spitfire.
Try here for some good info on presentation Spitfires & presentation aircraft in general http://www.sturtivant.freeserve.co.uk/spitfire/

If either are Dunlops, then give Dunlop an email, I did this re a wheel the museum had, and they were very helpful. I don’t have the email address, but have a look at Dunlop’s website, and use one of their ‘contact us’ links.
Hendon have a partial list of the ‘AH’ numbers & they would also be worth contacting.
Geoff.
You’ve caught me up again 🙂
All the best
Geoff.
They are ultralights, though only one flew for the film. if you’ve got the DVD, the director’s comentary at that point has some info on these aircraft, though no mention if they’re meant to be a particular aircraft type, or just one that looks right for the period.
Geoff.
Cheers Robbo. You can hang on to the videos until then if you like.

Re the Me110 in ‘Angles One Five’, the book ‘War prizes’ by Phil Butler (Midland Counties Publications) states that the Me 110 used was Me 110G Werk Nr 180850. It was one of four German aircraft brought to this country for museum display. Two survive, one was ‘lost’ and this Me 110 was scrapped after use in the film. There is a photo of the Me110 in ‘War Prizes’ though it isn’t great.

I’ve just checked with my ‘Mothersitter’ and he’s okay for the 9th May, and its not one of my Sundays at the museum, so it looks like I can make it.
Robbo….mate, pal, old buddy….;)
Geoff.
Thanks Fluffy, I’m following this up. Cheers for the offer re Russ, I will let you know how I get on with the IWM.
When will we be seeing you and the lads down at Shoreham?
Geoff.
Fluffy,
I’ve tried various search engines as you suggested re VDM, but the results weren’t too good. I’ve now got a few propeller part numbers for the Me109F, G & K, and the Fw190A. I could still do with part numbers for the propellers used by the Me109E, Me110, He111, Do17, Ju88 & other German aircraft operating over the Channel, as I expect could a few other forum members.
Perhaps we could start to build up a database here?
Can any other museum based forum members help out?
Geoff.
Robbo, Andy & ‘Mrs Andy’,
Thanks for the write-up 🙂
As always, it was nice to be able to chat face-to-face, rather than through a keyboard.
I’m only at the museum one week in three, so if anyone does want to see me when they visit the museum (!!!!), let me know, & I can tell you which days I’ll be there.
I told you the raffle prize was worth having a go on 🙂
Geoff.
Anyone else thinking of popping in tomorrow to say Hi, apart from Rob & Andy?
How do you start a pudding race?
