Ok here’s mine…
It was the first ever enrollments for our newly formed Detactched Flight of Air Cadets and as such the wing padre was invited (and accepted) to perform them. There were 4 of us that moved over to help set it up and were all NCO/SNCO’s.
During the ceremony the padre is doing a bit of a speil for the parents and so forth and I admit, I had tuned out a bit…
Padre: “I look around this room and I see years of experience in these four NCO’s. How many years expreience do you think there is Flight Sargeant?”
Me suddenly very alert: “Oh god knows!” (ARGH – I can’t say that!!!!)
Padre – straight back no pause: “I’m sure he does…”
Cue rawcous laughter and a rapidly blushing Flight Sargeant.
