Daz & SP I sympathise – I met people like that. Management should step in and act accordingly but no doubt they won’t as is the norm in such cases.
She (the waitress) is not sick it is self inflicted and should thereffore be taken as leave. I’ve seen someone been forced to do that – change sick to leave… They soon stopped it.
