Nice picture..

I was amazed at the shortness of the take off run… Remarkably short for the size of the aircraft. Even the flex-wing microlights at Cranfield seemed to take longer to get up!
Was also at a PFA Rally with the Bristol Freighter…. 🙁
Was I mistaken or did two of the Spits wear the same squadron code on opposite sides in one sequence on the ground? I only ask asI accidentally caught a bit of it and saw it out of the corner of my eye…
Although I do admit to watching it a little closer for a moment or two when I noticed the HAC’s hurricane and I too saw the Shuttleworth’s in the background too in one shot… Still in her usual scheme…
The Victor nose is visible at the edge of the first Wessex photo.

Well that’s what we thought but then you never know if that they carry enough for such enventualities or if just enough for the run with a bit of waiting time fuel too. If they did fly off then can you imagine the stink from the CAA et al? But that could be seen to be a safer option… Now you see why I asked the question…

That’s what we thought… We just wondered what the official line was or the one the operators work to. I guess they always allow plenty of stopping space just in case.

Was at Abingdon on Sunday for the Fayre (Fantastic day) and the camoflage on the hangar front is still visible… Think it was known as “E” hangar
