I know that in the 90’s the scrap yard on the A41 just outside Bicester had a Sea Vixen wing piled high up on some scrap. I did ask about it and all I really gleaned was that apparently the cockpit had been saved by “someone” but that is all I know…

Judging from some of the shots you have posted BM you must have an amazing collection of images from this time.
    Many thanks for sharing them.

Arm waving limits the kind of shots you can get somewhat…

There is also a BA Swallow fuselage in the Blue Max used as set dressing and can be seen briefly against the wall by the entrance gate to the airfield – it is light blue (IIRC) so stands out.

Sorry I didn’t get to meet up with anyone really. I did say hello to a couple but as OAG said – I was very busy arm waving.

Nice to see that someone almost got a photo of my fellow marshaller being blown away by the Chinook. – a surreal feeling apparently.

On behalf of the marshalling team I’d like to personally thank Neil for giving us another year of suberb variety. Cheers! I would have stayed for the party but headed back to Norfolk that evening via Daventry.

Lovely shots there Anna and Neil.
Nice to meet up during the display when we managed to have a rest.
Thanks to all who have stuck photos up – always nice to see things that when working we don’t always get chance to see.

For anyone wondering the orange thing in front of the Merlin is – It was two tyres with a note on the orange reading “Found all enquiries to 28 (AC) Sqdn” as a sly leg pull to the Chinook crew about last year.

Thing is the adverts probably help defray the costs of running the site… If it means we have the same free access as we do surely can’t be a bad thing?
