i’ve been following this thread & its hotting up!! I noticed no one has mentioned the Italian navy, who appear to be having no problems with their mixed fleet of ‘101’s.

just to throw a extra in……………… why is there a EH101 civilian prototype at Hendon, when it is’nt a military a/c, plus Cosford holds prototype/pre-production a/c!
I think this subject will go on an’ on. But at the end of the day, we can’t make these decisions and atleast we get to see these a/c preserved & looked after, instead of being cut up or negleted.

Merlin – when you were told ‘roughly’ about the B.A collection did they pin you up against a wall!

not far off it! All I will say for now is there will be ALOT of movements of the BA collection in the next couple of months, good and bad!!

HOT OFF THE PRESS!! took these this morning, coming along nicely. Canberra being readied for painting, as is the two seat Hunter, all in the restoration hanger. Next week hanger 1 will be closed, due to removal of asbestos! Have been told roughly about the British Airways collection, but as its still rumours, won’t devolge for now, sorry!! i’ll get some pics taken of Argosy & Andover hopefully tomorrow!

Mmmmm looking good BUT also looking like shes ready to move?

Any idea how long she’ll be there, I still have a chance to get there early next week.

If i get the chance, i’ll pop up and have a chat with mate of mine, who is full time staff at the museum. get some updates. Hopefully see the F111 painted to!

taken today at a rather overcast Cosford. the cones have been moved, so you can get right next to it now. looking over it, just needs few cosmetic touches & she’s done!

Merlin101, what’s the story on the Wheelbarrow? Its been parked on the airfield for more than a year or so now – and did you get any shots of the Andover being scrapped?

Wheelbarrow? Argosy or Andover (red/white one)? They’re both out of view, Argosy was moved as it was sinking in the mud! Heres a couple of the Andover being stripped for parts, i missed the actual cutting up!

Hi my name is Charlotte Clark and I am an Art and Design student at Stourbridge College.
I am currently looking at working to a commission style brief, and following a previous project about the new hangar at Cosford, I decided that it would be interesting to design a sculptural piece for the new building.
I was wondering if you could help me out with some images of the making of the building (in turn i will share some of mine) and also help me by allowing me to quote your oppinions of the new building. I look forward to hearing from you.

these any use Charlotte? I’ve worked at Cosford for almost 10 yrs now & its made quite a difference to the skyline.I think it’ll fit in, but time will tell,

if anyone’s interested, tomorrow (Thurs 26th) theres a RAF exercise on the airfield involving a Herc para drop & few other a/c, around 2pm. Valiant’s making slow progress towards completion. A Meteor is now parked next to it!
