Personally I’d say you went about things pretty much the right way,the only thing I wonder about is whether the museum director realised that your photo’s might end up on the web when he gave you permission to take them.If that was a problem,he should’ve brought it up and I don’t think you did anything wrong,it’s his responsibility to ask things like that.I certainly think it’s odd that your photo should appear on their own website a little later!Once the cat was out of the bag I suppose they felt they didn’t have anything to lose.
I suppose it might be an idea in future to ask specifically about posting stuff on the net just to make sure,but really it’s thier own fault if they don’t tell you not to.I’ve not been in the priveleged postion of being allowed access to a ‘secret’ project,so I’ve never faced this dilemma myself,but I sympathise with you entirelly.

If you don’t have them already,there’s Dark Blue World,a low budget movie from the Czech republic.Whilst that doesn’t sound encouraging,it’s actually a brilliant film by all accounts and includes alot of unused footage which was shot for Battle of Britain back in 60’s (digitally cleaned up and enhanced).I have to admit that I have yet to see this film,but everybody who has is raving about it.It’s on my must-see list…
Then there’s Empire of the Sun,Spielberg’s film about a British boy sent to a Japanese prison camp in China.Although it’s not a ‘warbird movie’ as such,the prison camp is set right next to an airfield with plenty of ‘Zero’s flying from it.(The Zeros are converted T6’s by the way).If you haven’t seen this film before I recommend it to you,it’s a good film all round and has a spectacular scene involving some P51’s towards the end.

Transall’s definition maybe right,but I’d always thought the term was given to any weapon capable of firing explosive rounds/shells?

Speaking of little museums with good food,the ‘tea-room’ at Tangmere does some good grub,depending on the time of day.If you want to eat while you’re there,it might be an idea to ring them beforehand to see what time they start serving so can get the best service and hottest meal.Don’t know if they still do it,but as of a couple of years ago they did a full roast on Sundays. 🙂
