In deepest north Hampshire (lager land :mad:) there is a pub about 8 miles from me that has very well kept “Doombar” from Cornwall….. now that is tasty :rolleyes:;)… as for Guiness, if I ever get to Ireland I may try it as I’m told it is different, but I doubt it will ever get me excited, Caffries was Ok if looked after, but with more and more pubs, the notion of keeping a beer cellar is seemingly becoming a thing of the past.

I know the Antarctic is a big place (to be over simplistic !) but it would be quite simple I would imagine to calculate and measure the speed of the glacier and how long it would take to reach the open sea (if I am correct in what I say about the burial sites). I do hope though, that they are left alone.

‘Rescue Dawn’ shows Dieter Dengler’s escape from a North Vietnamese POW camp and seems to be fairly close to the truth. Not quite as good as the documentary he took part in for the BBC, ‘Little Dieter needs to fly’ I think it was. Incredible story.

Rescue Dawn is a good film, I enjoyed it (CGI a tad dodgy) but the money was spent on a good cast and script !

Not a movie, but the old BBC “secret army” series focused around “lifeline” an underground group created to smuggle airmen back to the UK, it showed a while ago on Uk Gold I think, and while it has dated a little in terms of wobbly sets etc, I think it stands up well depsite its age (over 30 years now?)
