That Komet looks great

Thanks for these, the Komet looks great after its re-paint and the Me-410 looks like it could be at Legends next year !

If memory serves, I think Moggie C has sat in the cockpit. I think I saw a mention on an earlier post.

To the extreme right of the Airfix Spitfire picture you can just make out a tail, is there something next on outside display or was it passing traffic? Just curious, I was last up there in February and there was nothing there at the time I’m sure.

LOL – 😮 just as I read that what appeared to have been a tree and fence panel went past my house at 0 feet……

I’m thinking it may be delayed a few days !

and if she was 20 years younger there are enough people who would vote her back in looking at the state of the country right now.

Blair did the same as her and got power hungry and served too long, the current bloke is a spineless ***** with the moral integrity of a toilet brush, lets be honest, are any of them any better or for that matter worse?

If only

My grandfather was discharged from the army in 1938 on medical grounds and served as a fireman covering Southampton docks. I never knew until long after he died (1985) his brother, also a fireman was killed at the docks in an air raid and recently the Fire Service planted a tree and unveiled a small memorial at Winchester Fire Station where they were based.

Like countless others of the time, they served as bravely as anybody in the front line, and we know little about them.

A Typhoon squadron, ‘making do’ at an Advanced Landing Ground in foul weather during the battle of the bulge. Initial shock of the German thrust, strafing attacks from 262’s, frustration at the weather meaning no chance to fight back, all against the background of the bloody ground offensive. Then the weather clears, and bitter revenge from the rocket-firing Typhoons as the opposition is driven back through the snow… well, it’s a vague idea, but I don’t think it’s been done before.

make it a Tempest and maybe its “The Big Show” ?

A fair call and an informative answer! I guess what I was getting at was that particular actor was so well-known for his role in that inane American sit-com that it was awfully hard to accept him in the BoB role.

I know what you mean, certain actors stick in your head and you just want to see a film poster that says “Will Smith, played by Will Smith”.

I can’t watch Colin Farrel & Hugh Grant for the same reason !

I liked the idea of the following of a group of pilots for 10 episodes, obv america has the money, so maybe if there were a few guys in an eagle squadron together, fighting the BOB, raids across france, supporting bombers, hoping across europe with the advance, that kind of thing, real aircraft, real stories a more everyday tribute to airmen.

Piece Of Cake was meant to be 12 chapters, 12 months but never quite worked that way (as a book) – still excellent but I never liked the TV series, other than the flying….Ray Hanna, a Spitfire and a bridge…. classic.

The Flying tigers – 1st AVG in China 1941/2?? Some good stories within the story itself. And probably a fair bit of hardware still around….??

One was touted a while ago, John Woo to direct if memory serves, US focus so box office and backing would be easier.

I mean nothing by that other than films cost money, and the US has biggest bank balance and potential viewers !

Far better to find a WW2 story which has not been filmed before – there must be hundreds. There is a sad dearth of original material on TV and on film and we need new stories and new ideas not rehashes or remakes.

Good point, the Amiens raid has been suggested on here before as one good example. “untold” stories are still there, “Defiance” for example.
