no great surprise? no great controversy?

Not either, but the “English” story part of it wasn’t something that they just discovered….. 2013 is the 70th anniversary of the raid, maybe its on hold waiting for that.

    Straw, clutch, hang on……..

any word on the other pieces, there are a few engines there, some prop blades and in the museum building quite a few relics (including unless my old memory has finally gone) a mid upper turret “cover” or glazing from a Lancaster/Halifax – its been a while since I’ve been inside but I’m sure there are some interesting pieces there.

Don’t be taken in by the pantomime; it is all part of the carefully orchestrated publicity generating machine. .

There you are, nail hit squarly on the head. All you need to do is ignore it. Don’t watch, don’t vote, don’t get involved and with luck, if everybody does that, this and all “reality” TV will vanish.

No hope of that I admit but Creaking Door summed it up in one.

Good quality clear pictures, somebody knows them BUT, what will the punishment be? Ok, £20 or whats in the tin isn’t a huge amount but thats part of the problem. It’s theft and while I’m not about to suggest that we cut off hands or hang them, some kind of public shame and significant punishment is surely called for to stop “minor” crimes which are rife.

Interesting update in Flypast on this.

Hopefully it will be put in place in 2010, USAAF markings but still unique to the UK so I’ll take a trip to see her.

VDU screens are so bright, people have reflections on their faces of every character.

networks and PC’s are oh so fast and never hang (NCIS etc)

“Log onto their mainframe and give his bank details and footage from the CCTV”

    “on the screen now boss.!”

Maybe the local health and safety departments in Turkey are even more zealous than those in the UK. Just imagine it………………….

I was in that part of Turkey a about 20 years ago, H&S is a no no , at least it was back then. Drivers “mates” jumping from bus to bus while we drove two abreast on the roads. To swap drivers the guy parked up, let the hand brake off, the bus rolled past he jumped in the back door, woke up his mate who ran to the front of the bus to jump in the drivers seat and take over. I also watched a guy on a building site (next door to the hotel !) build a ladder and hod out of bits of pallet and packing crate and use them to hike stuff up the very wobbly scaffholding.
