You always seem to pick on the Halifax example, I can’t think of a better way to display it, not only is it fascinating in its own way, but it serves visually the horrors that aircrew went through during the war.
I.
I’ve changed my view over the years on the Halifax and I agree with you. When I was last at Hendon last year with my son, I suddenly found it quite poignant, the atmosphere (Ok, or the lack thereof) in the museum helped, but I found myself seeing it as more of a memorial and less of a displayed aircraft.
I will miss my trips to SWWAPS, Lasham, I got some nice framed pictures from their little shop.
For all of the discussion points about their policies etc that have been discussed on here, so will I. The F-104 is always nice to look at and its only 15 mins from here so if the kids brainwashing needs topping up, thats the place to go ! (or the local Model Zone)

Which was completely false and a hoax, but dont let the facts get in the way of your anger.
Nice post there, I’ll happily accept being corrected but please don’t make cheap jibes at me. Thanks,

It’s time to bring them all home, whatever the Nationality.
You Sir, are a master of our language, debate and discussion. I tip my hat to your post and the sentiment. (I also liked GA’s suggestion as well)
I would also like to know the status of the criminal investigation in (free) Iraq into the murder of the military policemen, we know investigations are possible when the locals feel their Human Rights are at risk…..

The one thing I think may have been wrong in the programme was the picture of Bushell stood in front of a Hurricane, he may have flown a Hurricane, but to the best of my knowledge he went from Blenheims to Spitfires and was shot down in a Spitfire of 92 Sqn, 23 May 1940.
Despite Moggy’s reservations I thought the programme was fine.
I’ve just seen this on Sky plus, the image (and that of the investigator with a Lancaster) were “photoshopped” or similar, maybe just to give some background to the pictures or to add some weight to the narration.
It was a well made programme I thought , but to me it did lack a bit of depth, but one especially chilling element was stopping to drop of theatre tickets with a prisoner in the car while you are on the way to murder him.
I’ve just a while trawling the net without luck, does anybody know where the victims ashes were buried (there was a memorial in the closing shots but it didn’t say where)?
Work.
I detest Airbus UK (Non Engineering white collar lot) more than anything on earth. They are nothing more than a bunch of false academic no-marks that don’t know a fuselage from a fuse box.
I hope that A400 falls out of the sky on the 26th and the damn thing is cancelled, all involved will breathe a sigh of relief.
I should have mentioned, I have a “one to one” session with another one tomorrow to review competencies in the management team blah blah…. I think I’m being interviewed for my own job having survived a cull and a work transfer of piles of **** earlier in the year. Ended up taking to a solictor (happily married to an old school friend of mine but she is an employment lawyer by trade and she gave me some nice word templates to use :D)
wonderful….
