Off thread but on the quality of the Osprey series, I picked up “American nightfighter aces” today and learned something new. US Navy used Ventura’s as “make shift” nightfighters the same way the air force used Havocs as P-70’s. Worth it IMO just for that little gem and I’ve not even read it yet.

    Good question

The Duxford WWW site says :

    “Already confirmed flying participation:
Saturday 11 July – Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Spitfire and Hurricane.
Sunday 12 July – Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Lancaster”

    Can’t see anything else confirmed.

    Transformers 2..

It’s a dreadful 2 ½ hr long advert for toys. Some very (IMO) age inappropriate language, convoluted plot, we’ve got the Uber Orb for all time. Ah, but we have the energiser bunny, for all time, yadda yadda…… poor, very poor.

    But Megan Fox, oh yes:diablo:

I’m currently finishing up the new Osprey Aircraft of the Aces title “P-36 Hawk Aces of World War 2”, and I have to say it has been a fascinating read. Anyone with any interest in this airplane in particular or in some of the more obscure aircraft of the conflict would do well to give this one a try.

    .

You and I have posted before on the Osprey series I think Phantom II- this one is great quality and brings out a lot of combat history, especially with the French air force which I found very enjoyable.

Thanks for the detailed update – its certainly an eye opener for people like me who have a deep love and interest but am totally unaware of the complexities involved in for example, purchasing specific metals etc.

If time allows, please keep us updated – and thank you

I always thought it was “added” or featured to lend weight to the rollicking he got from Christopher Plumber when he landed ?

Sorry all :(- but without shame I’m bumping my own thread from two years ago, actually my first ever and the reason I joined the forum.:D

With legends coming up, if anybody has pictures from two years ago with a chubby bloke and beaming 7 (as he was then) year old by the silver Rapide could you PM me ?

Muppet that I am, I left the camera at home that day so we don’t have any pictures of the day other than these.

    thank you (hopefully)

    Jon

I like to think that the series will be a long standing monument to all involved, it is an utter classic and all actors and writers will be long remembered.

Rest in peace Colin Bean, you’ll be alive in our living rooms for years to come.

    🙂

But it will be a Hurricane when it grows up….

    A Supermarine Hurricane ?:diablo:

I had the self same conversation with my nine year old looking at Demon’s, Harts and Hurricane in an almost evolutionary like way.

whatever, nice to see a rare type with air under her wings.
