    Captain America

    I’m not and never was a Marvel comics fan, but this is actually very good fun indeed, if only for the Nazi “Wiffer” aircraft at the end !

    Excuse me

    “Christmas” could be a very upsetting term for those of other religions and creeds and its use here on a widely read forum is totally unacceptable.

    The word “Merry” could imply the consumption of alcohol, and as we have many under-age contributors here cannot possibly be condoned.

    The approved greeting is:

    I hope (but do not compel you in any way) that you have an enjoyable winterval without in any way offending any person of another gender, religion, age or sexual preference.

    Thank you for your co-operation

    I express my gratitude for your unsolicited expression of general good on this multicultural occasion of festivity. I would, by way of return like to confirm that I would find it pleasing if you availed yourself of the various opportunities that present themselves at this non -religiously denominated calendar date to engage in festivities. Please note that you retain the right to decline this invitation.

    @DazDaMan,

    while I could agree on most of your remarks I am a bit puzzled by your mark for Inglourious Basterds. Only 5/10:eek: I know it’s most probably a matter of taste, but the movie is fantastic, and now Baron de Ley (Reserva Rioha) asks you for an explanation:D

    I agree with Daz on the movie to a lesser extent, in fact I’d give it 1/10 but I’ll stick with you on the Rioja, Baron De Lay is great stuff.

    hampden98’s situation sounds like “collective consultation”, a nightmare for all, and a cop out by the company as they leave people to “fight it out”, often using consulatants to run it (lowest bidder….) we did it at our place a few years ago, I was “affected” as my job was mentioned in consultation discussions, but I wasn’t part of the consultation. So when it ended I was presented with a pile of work from the group who cherry picked what they wanted to create the roles that stayed within the company.

    I was in luck, a friend was married to an employment law specialist who went through the paperwork with me and a big red pen. I would say to hampden98, get some advice if you can at all, the C.A.B if you can’t access a solicitor, but mistakes are made in these processes, especially if they outsource to the cheapest one supplier that they can find.

    when the kids were younger I gave all cold callers to them to chat to on the phone, that was good sport but now my youngest was 8, it doesn’t seem to work.

    You can play along like Moggy C mentioned if in the mood, otherwise I keep a whistle in the little bowl that sits by the phone (you know the one, with keys, an old reciept, a single chewing gum half out of its wrapper…) – a sharp blast with that does the trick.

    BUT, my old mum was scammed out of £75 for an “energy saving device”…. via her card details after a call…. while we all laugh about it, there is a nasty serious side to these b******ds…. rather than call one of us (4 sons) it was bus into town, queue at the bank to speak to “somebody” to sort out card to be cancelled etc.

    Remember that really long thread about “movie mistakes” which featured 633 quite a lot !? :rolleyes:

    I like the story line, far fetched or not, my gripe is the over reved Merlins….:eek:
