Mine arrived about 3.5 seconds after I started a thread asking if anybody had Vol 27.
Content wise, it’s back on track although I do find the “news” section odd still. I’ve been a huge critic of the delays and lack of information that surround the publication, Vol 28 (ships late Dec 2010 it says on the very last page of 27) is the last on my pre-paid subscription, time will tell what happens here on in.
But, a packed volume and here is hoping for the future……
Would I be wrong in thinking this model a lot of interest?if so. why wait so long to produce this..besides the Airfix kit, this, and a smaller diecast I`ve seen…what other Stirling models are out there?
Along with several types it is a bit of a “Holy Grail” for diecast collectors, and while I appreciate that opinion is divided here about the merits of diecast (I love them, simply as I can buy them FAR better than I could ever make them) it is a major step for Corgi to launch one, I’ll add one to my ever growing stash of models.
Wonderful film, very dark at times, I can relate to the office life, I worked in London in the late 80’s for a Canadian owned insurance company that had “officers” not senior managers, “senior toilets” with nice soap and soft paper etc. Not so well known perhaps as other films by the same director but I love it.

They named the Orinoco river after Orinoco?

Wombles chose their own names out of an Atlas (that was found on the common IIRC) Bulgaria, Wellington, Bungo etc
It’s all coming back to me now…. I loved them when I was young.

the new “Tron”….zzzzzzzzzzzz

visually fantastic to look at but what was missing, oh yes, a plot with any kind of threat and what’s that thing where people talk to each other in the film….. um let me think….
started dozing off at one stage :o

Indeed, what a shock. His famous Falklands Sea Harrier moment was only played again last week on the news with the Harrier retirement going on.
RIP
I was just reading on the BBC website that the Harrier crews recorded him a get well message as he was unable to attend the retirement personally.
I think Planemike summed it up perfectly , and its a sad loss indeed.
