Good news for “jane” though.
I just wanted to to say “Great picture, thanks for sharing” – it seems to have captured the period totally.
Young boy in shorts (Sunday best?) with a lemonade bottle (marble in the bottle neck?) the two bladed prop on the Hurricane, “Low Viz” roundels, its fantastic.
Marvellous director, who will be best remembered for the Pink Panther, despite Tiffany’s and Victoria, Victoria.
It’s those Pink Panther films that I will always associate with his name, utter comedy classics.

Hearing that a guy {Iraqi Kurd] cannot be deported on the grounds that it would infringe his human rights as he now has family [kids] here. All after he had run over and killed a 12 yo girl, fled the scene and been found to have been driving whilst disqualified for no licence or insurance. And with a string of other offences like drug dealing burglary and harasment under his belt.:(
If you want the protection of human rights legislation in your “adopted country”, surely the first thing you should do is sign up to abide by it yourself ?

“Erm… I don’t know really. Drama Therapist or something like that…?” Makes me seethe that these people expect the rest of us to pay for rubbish like that.
My eldest niece who I love dearly and have always been close too left university last year, did a round the world trip (saved up herself from holiday jobs etc) and then came home, in debt and with her dad paying loans for a few years as well.
She wanted a holiday to get over the trip….. and started turning down part time jobs as £5.50 an hour wasn’t enough, I arranged some temp work in my office to cover holidays, 4 to 6 weeks with any time off she needed for interviews etc at £9 an hr, she turned that down at first….. not sure what she wants to do…..she did take it in the end and was asked to go into another department as well so ended up with six weeks work, but it was a struggle to get her to accept that she needed to start paying bills and work…
and what the **** is a “Drama Therapist” anyway !?!?!?

I still have an episode on tape though don’t now remember what it was titled as my video player has long-since packed-up. It was a story about one of the top brass coppers who had a secret to hide about his shady past during the Korean/ Vietnam war. How his gang were responsible for the murder of civillians, including children. This bent copper paid some of his old Army pals to nick this damning evidence from a certain location but it went wrong when one of them broke or twisted his ankle and was left behind. One of the gang went to shoot him but was stopped by the leader who said ”Don’t he wont talk” or something like that. Anyone have a clue what i’m talking about…..:)
This was the one I saw the other day that started the thread. It was an “incident” in Malaya, and the brother of the company clerk inherited the enquiry papers and started to blackmail the officers. One was very rich, one a senior officer in the Met, and one had some sort of mercenary/security company that they turned to for help, he ended up blackmailing the others.
Good story line, very original.
