This has been debated before, especially when there was a write up in (IIRC) the Torygraph about the RAF victory being less important as the Navy was intact.

While getting a fleet across the channel would have been a major undertaking, the Luftwaffe would have negated anything the Royal Navy had to offer in short order. The home fleet, lacking total fighter cover in a narrow band of water within range of the Luftwaffe airfields in Europe…. bad idea.

OK I’m being cruel as English isn’t the first language but you would think that the agency would get a grip on it (pun intended…:diablo:) and proof read the thing?

A CV on my desk that describes the candidate as being “skilled at hand jobs”.

    Phone…

I nearly put this in the swear thread but I think I use that too much at the moment….

My home phone number is one digit removed from the local golf club and it’s amazing what people say when you tell them they have a wrong number. One bloke called at zero dark early one Saturday asking about tee off times as it was raining. I toook his booking for 7:30 and told him not to be late….. he was oh so snotty about me taking time to answer the phone, so that’ll teach him.

I had this morning “are you sure that’s not the golf club?”, in the past I’ve had “can you look up the number for me?” and more….

Whenever I’m asked my home number by BT etc, I give the golf club number so they get my cold calls:diablo:

er….how does she phone them twice a day, Jon??

Don’t tell us you’re carrying a mobile phone whilst on holiday???

Dreadful signal in North Devon though Baz, you know that:D:diablo::rolleyes: ! I stopped the calls on hols OK, but she thinks when she (eventually) goes she will still carry on with the nippers as per usual….

The good Dr Strangelove seems to be correct, I am holding out and so far have gone from having to move out and be a MacDonalds dad, to keeping the kids in their home (50% of the time) and not forking out Child Support. I don’t begrudge the kids anything, but I’ll be ********* if I am subsidising the current Mrs BSG-75 !

I think it’s simply because she was planning initially on me going, paying child support plus her bills.

When that didn’t pan out for her, no plan B. So she hasn’t/can’t/won’t accept that splitting up means time away from the nippers, we went on hols last week, booked 4 months ago. She decreed to come for a few days only, we lost a day driving her to Exeter station, the she wants to phone twice a day…

hang on, you had loads of notice, it was the kids holiday not ours, you choose to not be with them, then want to upset them by calling twice a day.

I’m seriously stressing at the moment about this…:(

Cruella still here, but may complete on Aug 31st, still won’t say when she will actually move (WTF ?) and (get this) thinks that once she is gone, that during the times the kids are with me, she’ll call every morning and every night.

Tried to explain that having chosen to break us up, there are consequences for all, one being time away from the kids, I got the “you trying to stop me having contact with MY kids” speech again….

I played my father card again, reminded her that they are of joint parentage, and having chosen to leave, she can’t hide from the things that she has done.

8 months down the line and she still won’t push the move, and still won’t accept that things will change for all of us, least of all her.
