Best laugh I had in ages from that line…..

I spent some time at an MG club with a mate, it was the same. Lots of “garage queens” that are seldom used and driven, and if you dared use your MG as a car in daily use, then shame on you…… flat caps, branded gloves and lots of tut tut if you did more than 50 miles a month in it.

I called again today, I got an answer after a few attempts. Now its August to print and ship (maybe early Sept) Vol 27 from the UK, Vol 28 at least 3 months away but there will be a letter in Vol 27 explaining everything…..

I like this, Oliver Stone used to make superb films (JFK is up there as one of my all time favourites) but this (apart from that Darryl Hannah woman) is superb. I may see the follow on when it comes out.

Daz – as for a few posts of yours I missed (and I am getting there recommending films) “UP” is the dogs…. my kids still stop conversations mid sentence and shout “Squirrel” (now you have to see it). “Inception” I liked, but I think its a second viewing movie (like a lot of Nolans work) I thought Matrix as well, but was suprised and it did have some jaw dropping action sequences. I would have liked more background into how this whole dream thing got developed etc, more than the one line about military application. Hummmm.

I’m afraid I don’t, I was just trying to find the video that was on the WWW for a while of a night start up but thats gone as well, he e-bayed them can you believe, one went to New Zealand !

Not that big but a two man lift, it would fit into the back of an estate car, hours of fun though, and loud….

I may be way off track here and am only chipping in as a friend had a couple of the old Rover turbines that were designed to use as firefighting kit ? We took them up to Bruntingthorpe one year on a rig and ran them – great fun.:eek:

I understood that Rover had the patents/design work from Power Jets (Rolls Royce took over the aero engine side, leaving Rover with the smaller elements?) and Rover tried for some time to look for commercial applications such as the car, firefighting kit etc ?
