The new boss….

First instruction is to move some staff to repeat a move we did before, that cost thousands and hacked off everybody internally and outside.

It’s a bad idea I tell her, but its a new platform that I need to visualise….

same people, same IT platform, same mistake,

but I have to make it a good idea but not spend anything……..

I pushed my daughter too hard on a “zip” slide, she swung up, smacked her head on the top, some nasty bolts up there….

Trip to A&E with a deep but not too large cut, lots of claret and tears. All Ok, now, she says (after some encouragement from the nurse) that she’ll push me down the stairs in my wheelchair when I’m old.

But oh I felt terrible……….

I saw this, I can go with:

This is great fun, it’s not a documentary which is a point that a lot of the reviewers on Amazon just don’t get. It is said to be “crypto fascist soft porn” or “This neo-conservative propaganda film against the Persian empire is complete Pseudo-history. The film was actually based on a comic strip by Frank Miller rather than the writing’s of reliable historians to suit the Bush administration’s foreign policy, which shows to take this film as fact is like believing in the tooth fairy”
It is actually (IHO) a very imaginative piece of film making that keeps close to the graphic novel/comic that it came from. Imagine that you lived in ancient Greece and had never seen an animal bigger than a horse and you see an elephant…. the animals are very stylised as are many of the Persians.

Add is some macho dialogue and gruesome fight scenes, great fun. Not to everybody’s taste but it doesn’t ask to be taken seriously so don’t….

This was on MGM HD last night, lost the remote and had a glass of wine on the go so what the heck…:cool:

Its a mostly British “B” movie, directed by the guy who did “Texas Chainsaw blah blah…”

It has a host of British actors, some iffy cardboard special effects, but the splendid Matilda May spends just about the whole film starkers, all in the line of the story and required for the plot of course….:diablo:
