Thanks John T.
I always appreciate the depth of knowledge and expertise that you share.
This restoration really is a new “high bar”.
I’d like to see Dottie Mae displayed with all of her original, non airworthy parts preserved.
Keeping the airworthy machine along with these parts could be a way of ever creating any challenge to provenance.
I’m thinking of other rebuilds in which a large amount of original bits are binned to protect provenance.
Thoughts anyone?

Here’s a link to a primary manufacturer of these units.
A good description of blade construction is included.
Lots of craftsmanship along with the best grade woods.

Here’s another link to a different manufacturer. Beautiful stuff. Hard to not find this fascinating.

Yes, please add a date to any title with the word CRASH in capital letters.
It is unnecessarily alarming.
Thanks
Andy
Glad to see such a fortunate outcome.

As I was watching, I was thinking that it can’t be too far different from a Tiger Moth.
Sure it doesn’t fly like a Cessna, but it is probably pretty honest, if you know how to use the rudder and watch your speed control.
Andy
Thanks for posting all of those fantastic images folks.
Much appreciated.
Andy
Probably very safe to say that this one will be at L……
I got to see it a few times here in Canada.
It’s very cool. Enjoy!!
This will probably be the first time a 109E has flown over the U.K. since the 1940’s huh?
Andy
Congratulations!
Couldn’t think of a happier birthday.
Andy
Really nice video. Well done!
Thanks for sharing that.
Kudos to the team at East Kirkby. She certainly looks the business.
Is the plan to eventually operate her from there?
Andy
I want to see an air to air with this and Ericksons 109!
That’ll be so cool!
Andy
“Dreadnought” is 4360 powered as is “Furias”
Rare Bear still holds the record though.

Thanks for posting.
Nice to see the Hurricane back on its “feet” again.
I had the good fortune to visit Old Warden last summer (from Canada).
It is truly a unique and almost magical place. Marvelous site and collection.
A friend of mine has a DH60 and a Hornet Moth, he has also flown many other DH types.
He said “oh, I’d give it all up for a Leopard Moth”.
‘CMA certainly looks immaculate.

Please add a date to any thread title with the word “crash” in it.
It saves people from being alarmed with the possibility of the loss of a community member.
Thank you
Andy Scott
Really nice martin.
Thanks for taking the time to share this with us.
In that last picture of you with the exhaust, that sure does not look like a 109 behind you:D
Do you have access to a real 109 to copy bits from? Looking good!
