The fuselage cross looks like it is not correctly proportioned.
Perhaps this paint scheme was done post war.

Oh sure! Turn this in to a contest of who has the biggest c0ckpit 😀

Thanks for the link Peter.
I look forward to hearing more about this project.
I don’t honestly think that he will have any trouble finding an eventual home for this when he is done with it.
There are several places in Ontario alone that pop into my mind.
Andy
Can’t say it enough.
I very much appreciate the time you folks take to post these marvelous photos.
Thank you

Well then, it’s a good thing that I only mentioned P-38’s and not Lightning 1’s :dev2:
(Tongue planted very firmly in cheek)

So, DH Hornet propellers rotate In at the top, same as the Twin Mustang (with the exception of the 1st one).
P-38’s all turn out at the top (again, with the exception of the first one)
In the case of the 82 vs the 38, I think the relative position of the wing vs the centre of the prop arc must have something to do with it.
Anyone have any thoughts, or god forbid, facts!:D
I understand that engine failures in the Twin mustang were pretty much a non event, whereas the P-38 took some very quick and specific handling to maintain control after losing an engine.
This makes sense with regards to torque.

When I first saw the image, I thought it was a comment on the aerodynamics of the beast. :stupid:
Andy
“You’re going to need a bigger boat!” 🙂
My first thought was “you’re bl00dy mad!”
This, however, sums it up much more beautifully:eagerness:
Andy
Fantastic! Looks terrific.
Congrats on another milestone.
Andy

Thanks so much for posting.

Great piece of history.
Thanks for posting.

I knew a gentleman (Canadian, now departed) who was a bomb aimer / navigator on Lockheed Hudsons during 1940-41 based out of the U.K. flying missions over the Atlantic.
He used to tell me, with his tongue firmly planted in his cheek, that they “used to do skip bombing, two years before the Americans invented it!” 😀
His name was Earl Gillespie and he was one in a Billion.

CF-MAD is based out of the airfield formerly owned by Watt Martin, Grand Valley Ontario.
I live near Creemore.

Be nice to see my DH5520P hanging on the front of that Tiger!
Shall I send you an address to ship it too? :dev2:
You’d then be welcome to come and fly behind it!
