I wonder if that includes the Su-35 engine testbeds used in the program.

    I would guess they’re refering to the Su-27M “710”.

Mr Fomin has most of the Vzlet magazines available for free download (except the last 3 numbers )

I think this is the magazine in question…

I think it’s a wikipedia mistake anyway. Current engines from what i’ve read around are Izdeliye 117, which are upgraded Izdeliye 117S( from Su-35) , and capable of 15,000( 15,300?) kgf.

Aparently this “Izdeliye 127” ( 17,500-18,000kgf?) engine is intended to be ready to power the “second stage” T-50 ( lets hypothetically call it T-50M)

NPO Saturn : “…engines on current T-50 prototypes much different from Izdeliye 117S on Su-35S”…or something like that.:)

Not sure if this was posted /noticed before, but looking closely at the all-moving fins mountings, on T-50-1 the panels seems to be mostly composites( i assume the grey material is composite anyway), while on T-50-2 is mostly metal ( i assume the yellow material is metal :)).

Coupled with the seemingly all metal fins now , it seems that area has been reinforced ( which one can theoretize that maby the flutter/buffeting rumours have some foundation ?)

Regarding the side bay door …i would think those rivets indicate it might have the actual launcher inside, so given that T-50-2 seems to have a functional IRST /EO (?) , probably it will be used for some missile test-launches too.

    Juts a random thought anyway.

Dunno if this was posted before but this is new to me , in the sense that finally the all-knowing western sources who were saying J-20 is a 70ft long behemont bomber /striker ( but nope, not a fighter ), have begun to back down.

Ignore the rest of the claims , it’s juts dribble imo. The estimated lenght of 62 ft and wingspan of 41 ft are noteworthy (offcourse, most of the educated folks here reached the same conclusion months ago).

Interfax is wrong, the T-50-2 flew for 44 minutes ( as per Sukhoi).

is there a source/link where the current status of the flight testing is summarized (how many flights, flying hours, reached test objectives and so on) ??

Don’t think so , that aint the russian way.:p

Now that T-50-2 is up , and knowing that initially it was slated to fly in november 2010, and also i think it was stated (or rumoured? i’m not sure) that T-50-3 was intially slated for the first quarter of this year , does that mean that now the third prototype will also be offset at least 4-5 months ? Any rumours of when it is suposed to fly according to the revised schedule? (i know that offcourse it’s suposed to fly sometime this year)

Also regarding 51…according to take-off.ru , it re-entered flight tests on 10th of february ( if i got the translation right). Does anyone know how many times it flew from LII so far?

    RIP.

Sukhoi wouldn’t be what it is today if it wasn’t for Mikhail P. Simonov.

Regarding the differences , it seems that looking closely the IRST appears to be in the center of the windscreen , and the all-moving fins appear completely metalic now ( no dielectric top like on 51).

Don’t think PAK-FA has a primary air to ground role.;) ( think Typhoon, Rafale etc.)

If you look carefully this one seems to have a real IRST over the nose (as oposed to the mock-up on 51 and KNS), also the strain gauges on the tails look different.

    Eagerly waiting for high-rez ones!
