I wonder if these taxi trials are the pre-flight high speed ones, or is it actually the first time the aircraft performed taxi trials after being finished. (in which case there might be a while until the first flight… someone on a russian forum mentioned 1-2 weeks, no idea how true it is )

When the fake first flight news were refuted , i think it was said that on that occasion the aircraft only performed taxi trials, so if the rumours are accurate , the trials at least have been going for some time.

Well, gotta wake up early again tomorrow and check this thread . This aircraft drives me nuts! 😀

I don’t think Sukhoi ever said PAK-FA will have a one piece canopy ( if they did, please feel free to correct me ). The early model pics (bort 50) show a conventional one, the Saturn CGI from 2007 ( i think) shows a conventional one (again, i think- need to take another look at that pic ) and the F-22-like configuration leaked recently also show a conventional canopy . I don’t think they even seriously considered it , and imo good for them.

Probably too francy , too expensive /complicated , plus off course the very important pilot-safety factor, to be considered for PAK-FA. What happens if a Raptor pilot needs to eject at a speed highter than 1100km/h? I understand the HUD is only strong enough to resist to that speed.

    BTW what’s the limit for F-16 ?

Anyway …tommorow or the day after tomorrow huh ? I assume KnA time …well it’s 8:30 am there ( march 1st), if they’re gonna do it today , probably it will be around mid-day, early afternoon, would it …

Regardless when, good luck and a safe flight.

PS: nope, the Saturn CGI also shows a conventional canopy ( rear part appears jagged though)

Oh and just realized that Mr. Fomin has also a big article on the Indian Mig-29UPG, along with 3 stunning pics, they would be so awesome in high-rez…

So what do you think the small fairings under the wings are ? RWR or ECM antennas?

Thanks for that Levsha, looks like Mr.Fomin just updated the info on the SM3, that big article about it wasn’t there earlier today …:)

    So, looks like many good news for RuAF lately (slowly but surely Su-30M2 , Su-34 , Mig-29SMT , Su-27SM /SM3, Mig-31BM , Yak-130 etc. etc. ) lets hope they’re going to keep coming…waiting now for the new Su-35s (and offcourse T-50-2 :D)

Newly delivered Su-27SM3 (?) for the RuAF.

    http://pilot.strizhi.info/

Aparently part of a contract for 12 signed in 2009, which i assume was over the previously number of Su-27SM upgrades( how many of those were ordered btw?)

Big question is , what are the differences ( if any ) between these newly delivered machines and the previous SM models…engines, avionics…

    Thanks .:)

Ah, nice to see the dragon back ( although it took quite a long break …Jan.11-Febr.17)

I don’t think it flew today , is it ? ( weather seems dull in the next few days for Chengdu …)

Looking forward for pics of J-20 with gear up .:)

PS: Oh …in another place it is said that these are January pics but just released…is it the case?

Sens those F-16 pics you linked to show Python-4, not Python-3.

    G. Norton in “on the edge” says Shafrir-2 and Python-3 were not integrated on the F-16.

I also read somewhere, can’t remember where though ( could have even be F-16.net), that the israelis could not put Python-3 on the F-16 because of some compatibility issues( missile bigger and heavier than AIM-9, maby flutter etc.etc.) When they put it on F-4 and F-15 , they also installed new pylons for it.

    My 2 cents.

1.Did anyone ever saw a pic of F-16A Netz with Python 3s?
2.Israeli kills confirmed how? Wreckage photos ? Gun camera stills ? Because they said so ?( Personally, i take the 88 or 92 or 100 or whatever number of kills for the israelis as claims. IMHO half that number of REAL kills is a logical and sensible assumption . But that just my opinion.
3.According to some, AT LEAST one F-15 was damaged by and R-60 fired by a Mig-21bis. If true, the syrian pilot could easily report that as a kill.
    4. With all due respect , but don’t believe everything you see on acig without corroborating with other sources too.:D
